Work Location: Liberty Village, Toronto
Job Type & Duration: Full-time Internship, 4 Months from January to April 2026
Compensation: Paid Internship
Work Arrangement: At least four (4) days per week in office, 9AM to 5PM, up to 37.5 hours a week
The A&R department is responsible for seeking talented artists for our roster. We are looking for an exceptional intern to join the team on a short-term basis. As an A&R Research intern, you will have the opportunity to observe and assist in the day-to-day activities of the A&R team.
The Role
- Perform in depth online research daily (TikTok, Instagram, notable DSP playlisting & charts, tastemaker channels & analytical tools) monitoring artists, sounds & trends and compile findings to send to entire A&R team on a weekly basis.
- Participating in weekly A&R meetings, engaging in discussions about artist development and music projects, and documenting key decisions and actions.
- Maintaining tracking tools that assist and streamline A&R research (i.e. A&R Dashboard, CoBrand, Chartmetric etc.)
- Compiling assets and statistics for department marketing tools.
- Updating A&R local show calendar.
- Participating in weekly one-on-one meetings to learn about A&R concepts, approach, and discuss industry talking points.
- Completing other duties as assigned.
Ideal Candidate:
- Completed or enrolled in a post-secondary or training program with a focus on music, entertainment or marketing.
- Passionate music lover. Music is everything.
- Social media savvy with a strong grasp of platforms like TikTok, Instagram, and YouTube for spotting trends and new artists.
- Knowledge of the Canadian music landscape, including record labels and independent artists.
- Comfortable using DSPs such as Spotify, Apple Music, YouTube etc.
- Detail-oriented researcher with strong data skills and a proactive mindset.
- Connected and actively involved in the local music scene.
