Work Location: Liberty Village, Toronto 

Job Type & Duration: Full-time Internship, 4 Months from January to April 2026 

Compensation: Paid Internship 

Work Arrangement: At least four (4) days per week in office, 9AM to 5PM, up to 37.5 hours a week

The National Promotion Department is responsible for maximizing the exposure of Sony Music’s domestic and international roster through radio/video airplay, and for on-air/online content development. We are looking for an exceptional intern to join the team on a short-term basis. As a National Promotion Intern, you will have the opportunity to observe and assist in the day-to-day activities of the National Promotion team.

The Role

  • Monitor weekly Mediabase airplay statistics and chart positions and flag any trends or insights to the promotions team for strategic planning.
  • Compile detailed weekly internal and external radio reports, as well as data consumption reports, ensuring accurate distribution to relevant stakeholders.
  • Gather creative assets, including digital graphics, audio files, and promotional materials for delivery to radio clients.
  • Collaborate in the setup and coordination of audio and video servicing to radio partners ensuring timely and efficient distribution of music content and promotional materials.
  • Create artist hype sheets, highlighting key achievements and upcoming projects, and distribute these to the promotions team and National radio stations.
  • Maintain and update artists’ National tour and promotions calendars, coordinating schedules.
  • Assist in planning, organizing, and executing industry events such as showcases, playbacks, meetings, and promotional appearances.
  • Provide ongoing support to the promotions team for day-to-day initiatives, contributing to brainstorming sessions, campaign development, and execution of promotional strategies.
  • Coordinate physical mail-outs for National promotions, ensuring timely delivery of promotional materials, merchandise, and event invitations to radio stations and partners.

Ideal Candidate:

  • Completed or enrolled in a post-secondary/training program with a focus on music, entertainment, digital media or marketing.
  • Has high attention to detail.
  • Possesses strong proficiency in Microsoft Excel and is highly skilled with technology.
  • Professional attitude with exceptional interpersonal skills and ability to meet deadlines under pressure.
  • High attention to detail with an ability to multitask, work unsupervised, and is a team player.
  • Creative, with a passion for music, and knowledge of radio and media or music industry training.
  • Familiarity with Luminate Music Connect, APOLLO, Mediabase, Photoshop and MailChimp are an asset.
