Payroll Manager (Part-time 15.2 hours/week)

As part of the People Experience team, you will work autonomously and be responsible for accurately processing both fortnightly and monthly payroll for our Australian and New Zealand team members.

 

 

What you'll do:

  • Stand-alone management of end-to-end monthly and fortnightly payroll processes for 130 employees using Micropay software.
  • Ensuring pay records are accurate and representative of entitlements and conditions.
  • Reconciling and lodging PAYG, payroll tax, superannuation and WorkCover.
  • Ensuring compliance with all relevant payroll and taxation legislation and regulations in Australia and New Zealand.
  • Preparing and submitting payroll reports, including month-end and year-end reports to management, auditors and relevant authorities including the calculation of annual leave and long service leave provisions.
  • Maintaining and updating payroll systems and records, ensuring data integrity and security.
  • Addressing payroll-related queries and effectively resolve issues from employees, providing timely and accurate information.
  • Process Improvement: Identify and implement process improvements to enhance payroll efficiency and accuracy.
  • Assisting with the integration of our payroll system with our global HRIS system.
  • Preparing monthly payroll cost recharges to related entities.
  • Collaborate with Finance and People Experience to ensure seamless payroll operations and address inter-departmental dependencies.
  • Prepare and conduct regular audits of payroll processes and records to ensure compliance and accuracy.
 

Who you are:

•    Minimum of 5 years of experience in a standalone payroll position, with specific experience using Micropay software.
•    Ideally qualified in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, or a related field.
•    Deep understanding of payroll legislation, regulations and practices in Australia and New Zealand.
•    Excellent attention to detail, strong analytical and problem-solving skills, and proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel.
•    Strong interpersonal skills and clear communication skills in both written and verbal.
•    Must be able to meet stringent deadlines and manage changing priorities.
•    Ability to use initiative, be self-directed and work under minimal supervision.
•    Willingness to learn, adapt and champion changes across HRIS/Payroll software systems.
