Sony Music's Product Design Engineering Team (PDE) is looking for an Engineering Manager (Royalty Accounting) to build and evolve our royalty products within our ever-growing Kings Cross team.
What you'll do:
- Cultivate a high-performance agile development team balancing executing new features while maintaining our existing system health
- Manage teams of full-stack engineers to deliver royalty products
- Hold regular 1:1s, mentor engineers, and work with the recruiting team to build our teams
- Work with Directors to drive engineering vision
- Work with product to develop solutions that align with business cases and strategy
- Constantly improve our royalty calculation and payment products
- Experiment with new technologies and integrate them into our stack, when appropriate.
Who you are:
- Have experience working in an agile team
- Strong organizational and analytical skills paired with the ability to drive complex projects
- Interested in music and in learning the intricacies of the music business
- Able to influence cross-functional teams and create a consensus between engineering teams
- Strong verbal, written, and visual communication skills.
- 2+ years in an engineering management role
- 2+ years of experience with a variety of database technologies such as Neo4J, Snowflake, MySQL, ElasticSearch, etc
- 5+ years of experience building and maintaining complex software products
- 5+ years of SQL experience
- 5+ years in a scripting language such as Python, PHP, JavaScript, etc
- Experience writing unit and integration tests
