Sony Music's Product Design Engineering Team (PDE) is looking for an Engineering Manager (Royalty Accounting) to build and evolve our royalty products within our ever-growing Kings Cross team.

What you'll do:

  • Cultivate a high-performance agile development team balancing executing new features while maintaining our existing system health
  • Manage teams of full-stack engineers to deliver royalty products
  • Hold regular 1:1s, mentor engineers, and work with the recruiting team to build our teams
  • Work with Directors to drive engineering vision
  • Work with product to develop solutions that align with business cases and strategy
  • Constantly improve our royalty calculation and payment products
  • Experiment with new technologies and integrate them into our stack, when appropriate.

Who you are:

  • Have experience working in an agile team
  • Strong organizational and analytical skills paired with the ability to drive complex projects
  • Interested in music and in learning the intricacies of the music business
  • Able to influence cross-functional teams and create a consensus between engineering teams
  • Strong verbal, written, and visual communication skills.
  • 2+ years in an engineering management role
  • 2+ years of experience with a variety of database technologies such as Neo4J, Snowflake, MySQL, ElasticSearch, etc
  • 5+ years of experience building and maintaining complex software products
  • 5+ years of SQL experience
  • 5+ years in a scripting language such as Python, PHP, JavaScript, etc
  • Experience writing unit and integration tests
