This year long internship is developed to provide an in-depth insight into the Digital Partnerships team at Sony Music UK who are responsible for Sony’s relationships with Digital Service Providers (also known as the “DSPs”) i.e. Spotify, Apple, Amazon, YouTube and many more. Your role as the intern plays an absolutely essential part in the running of the Digital Partnerships team, and is an exciting opportunity to get hands on, frontline experience into the inner workings of a major record label, how artists grow their audiences on these platforms, as well as an overall insight into the way in which a record label works on a day-to-day basis. The Intern will be accountable for administration and co-ordination within the Digital Partnerships team, providing vital backing to the account management team. They will establish themselves as a point of contact for any queries relating to these areas by forging strong relationships with the label teams.

What you'll do:

  • Regular contact with all of Sony Music UK’s labels, dealing with streaming queries
  • Upkeep and distribution of Sony Music’s central release schedule, ensuring that all DSPs receive information on all releases by compiling bespoke schedules for individual DSPs
  • Weekly pitching of songs and albums to DSPs in their pitching platforms
  • Manage central database of artist images and music preview links across all upcoming releases and circulate these weekly to the DSPs
  • Manage all ticket requests for Sony artists’ gigs across the team and DSP guests
  • Regular research into competitor releases in order to ensure that Sony’s “ReleasePlanner” report contains the most up to date information
  • Regular exploration of DSP promotions

Who you are:

  • Tenacious, motivated and curious, eager to learn and ready to ask questions
  • You will be able to manage your time autonomously and prioritise tasks effectively to successfully fulfil your responsibilities
  • You have excellent attention to detail and time management skills
  • You have strong, proactive, communication skills as you will need to quickly build relationships with multiple stakeholders within the business and with external partners
