Project Manager, Artist Development - AWAL

As a Project Manager, within the Artist Development team, your main focus will be to represent a roster of AWAL’s key developing artists and partners, working with their teams to drive their creative vision, visibility, revenue and relationships whilst adding value to their campaigns.

We expect our Project Managers to work in close collaboration with the A&R and marketing teams to help identify and develop priority artists and releases.

Our team is a passionate, supportive, fun, innovative group of people. Collectively we meet in the office on Monday – Thursday’s. *Fridays are typically spent working remotely from home.  Join us in shaping the future of the music industry.

What you'll do:

  • Guide a roster of developing artists through the early stages of their careers helping them to establish and grow their audience. Work directly with these artists and their teams to drive and execute their creative ideas or vision.
  • Consistently inform and educate both artists and management with current or developing best practices across the industry. Support artists with distribution, marketing and release planning advice and best practices working in tandem with the marketing and global commercial partnerships teams.
  • Manage marketing and promo budgets. Collate assets for priority campaigns, coordinate pitching and liaise with external promo teams as needed.
  • Act as the first point of contact for assigned artists and liaise with internal departments, from operations, sales and marketing to finance, legal and A&R.
  • Represent AWAL at artist showcases & gigs, plus relevant industry conferences and events. Support the existing Artist & Label Development team as required.
  • Create and send regular analytics, updates and reports, providing insights where appropriate.
  • Work with the Director, Artist & Label Development to regularly review and audit roster activity.
  • Research and reach out to third parties as required including identifying relevant trends, sourcing relevant locations, collaborators, third-party curators and creators for specific campaigns when needed.

Who you are:

  • You have experience in a label, product or project management role within a progressive music company and can demonstrate an excellent working knowledge of digital music distribution as well as the various DSP processes
  • You also have experience or a working understanding of digital music marketing, promotion, community building and social media best practice
  • You can identify current trends in viral marketing, content formats and online storytelling tactics
  • You can build and nurture both internal and external relationships at all levels and demonstrate an understanding of the evolving needs of a developing artist
  • You are a flexible, adaptable and strategic thinker with good communication skills who can remain highly organised and efficiently structure and prioritise your workload
