Senior Manager, International Marketing - AWAL

The AWAL International team is responsible for all marketing and promotions efforts for our Global Recordings roster of incredible artists.  We’re looking for an innovative, creative, forward-thinking international marketer to join our London based team full-time. As an experienced Senior International Marketing Manager at AWAL, you will be responsible for the marketing strategy and initiatives outside of the UK and North America for a wide

range of AWAL’s artists, from emerging and developing artists, to established global acts.

You will have experience running a range of artist campaigns Internationally at a front line label or equivalent and be familiar with planning, budgeting and executing creative

campaign strategy. You will be a digital native with a digital-first approach to campaigns and a deep understanding of developing social and music platforms and the opportunities they offer.  

You will love working exceptionally closely with artists and be someone with real vision and ideas on how to solidify an artist proposition in key markets as they push for cultural, commercial and critical success. This would suit someone who has 6+ years’ experience working at a frontline label or equivalent, managing priority projects and with experience at a senior marketing manager level. 

You will be passionate about new music and love working closely with artists and creatives, whilst being able to bring out the vision for an artist and work in partnership with them towards their goals, whether that is culturally, commercially or critically. Fans and targeting niche audiences will always be at the front of your mind when planning campaigns.  You will be comfortable identifying audiences in detail and creating bespoke strategies to reach and expand those audiences.

As a team we meet in the London office Monday – Thursday. *Fridays are usually spent working remotely.

What you'll do:

  • Collaborate with the UK and US marketing teams and international offices on implementing innovative marketing timelines and strategy for AWAL artists by leveraging marketing tools, international resources, partners and agencies.
  • Set and manage marketing campaign International budgets 
  • Establish clear campaign objectives and targets for all key stakeholders to adhere to, and source and manage media promo partners for projects 
  • Work with internal teams, including A&R, Audience Development, Global Commercial
  • Partnerships, Sync, Brand Partnerships, US and UK marketing, Global marketing teams and Operations teams as well as external partners 
  • Advise on digital marketing, advertising and social media strategies to maximise results, engagement and growth in conjunction with the Audience Development team 
  • Set and achieve streaming, sales, cultural and revenue targets 
  • Monitor and analyse performance of releases using an extensive suite of analytics andthird party tools 
  • Formulate strategies to capture the attention of existing fans and new audiences for artists across multiple countries
  • Develop content strategies for artist owned channels and additional accounts around artist in market moments 
  • Drive artist awareness and/or virality by running creator campaigns and understanding briefing, results metrics etc. 
 To be successful in this role you will: 
  • Build strong relationships with both artists / artists’ team and internal team members in order to build trust and to keep steering the campaigns effectively 
  • Be consistent and effective in communications with both the artists / artists’ team and internal team members which adhere to AWAL’s values 
  • Successfully manage multiple campaigns in a fast-paced working environment and prioritise workload effectively 
  • Set campaign objectives and targets at the start of each campaign in collaboration with artist and internal teams 
  • Consistently think outside the box in terms of creative ideas to bring to campaigns and develop strong fan engagement 
  • Have a growth mindset towards your role and consistently strive to learn, adapt and evolve as the business/industry evolves 

Who you are:

  • •    You have 6+ years of music marketing experience at a record label, artist/label services company, or artist management company
    •    You can demonstrate your experience working on marketing strategy and campaigns across a range of genres and with artists at different stages of their careers 
    •    You are familiar with the AWAL business model and the company values 
    •    You have a solid understanding of the inner workings and deliverables required for the life cycle of global music releases, as well as digital and physical distribution, metadata and marketing 
    •    You are comfortable in hiring, working with, and driving results from third party promo teams, creatives and agencies 
    •    You have great knowledge of the DSP landscape and how it affects your marketing campaigns, including algorithmic impacts 
    •    You have an understanding of what it means to work releases in a global marketplace, and have an excellent knowledge and understanding of International music markets
    •    You have experience in implementing effective paid media advertising and creator marketing and an awareness on how to identify target audiences 
    •    You have great knowledge of the International media and retail landscape and how it affects your marketing campaigns 
    •    You are willing to take a hands-on approach and ready to execute a wide range of tasks to execute campaigns 
    •    You have a start up, entrepreneurial mentality, with a preference for teamwork, collaboration and innovation
    •    Solid experience of digital marketing within the music and entertainment industries
    •    Knowledge of sub-cultures, media habits and niche behaviours
    •    Proven track-record of augmenting audiences that are highly engaged and capturing data 
    •    Excellent organisational and project management skills
    •    Confident in a fast-moving work environment
