THE ROLE
The Property Collections Coordinator will assist clients through the property collection process in person at Gantry Point and York Avenue while offering exceptional client service and assisting client enquiries in an efficient manner. This person needs to be personable, outgoing, friendly and energetic, and enjoy being in a retail store environment and interacting with clients.’
RESPONSIBILITIES
- The Property Pickup Coordinator should have a passionate approach with a desire to exceed client needs. They should maintain the highest professional standard to ensure client experience is consistent with Sotheby’s global standard across all locations. The responsibilities of this position include but are not limited to the followings:
General:
- Be the welcoming face of Sotheby’s, greet clients and provide assistance appropriately
- Servicing in-person client collections with internal and external clients
- Assist client enquiries via Sotheby’s Post-sale phone line/email
- Work closely Post-Sale Services to ensure smooth client experience
- Work with Logistics team to schedule client shippers
- Ensure financial transactions comply with corporate governance
- Comply with security and audit guidelines
- Manage client collections via shared calendar
Transactional:
- Provide exceptional client service in respect of all post sale activities
- Issuing post-sale outputs at the counter – including
- invoices for purchases
- invoices for unsold property
- shipping quotes/shipping invoices
- interest and storage charges
- Processing and allocating clients payments to their accounts
- Escalating client queries (payment and shipping related) through to the relevant staff
- Assist clients with Sotheby’s Shipping quote requests on an ad-hoc basis as and when required
IDEAL EXPERIENCE & COMPETENCIES
- Ability to work at Sotheby's Gantry Point in Long Island City and Sotheby’s York Avenue
- Bachelor’s Degree required, ideally in relevant area of study/interest
- Excellent client service skills, with demonstrated capability in active listening, empathy, service recovery and patience
- Calm demeanor, especially under pressure
- Previous work experience in client servicing
- Proactive thinking, enthusiastic and flexible to undertake a wide range of tasks
- Computer literate (Excel, Word, Google), Freshdesk, Zendesk a plus
- An immaculately presented, articulate and highly organized person
- Strong organizational skills and follow through
- Highest standard of confidentiality, discretion, and work ethic
- Ability to work both independently and on a team
- Multi-lingual skills a plus
The base salary for this position starts $53,000. In addition to base salary successful candidates are eligible to receive a discretionary bonus, as well as a competitive benefits package. Salary offers are based on a wide range of factors including relevant skills, training, experience, education, and, where applicable, licensure or certifications obtained. Market and organizational factors are also considered.
