THE ROLE
1. Catalogues and researches objects intended for sale (Paris, online, and for export), coordinates appraisals and various expert requests. Is responsible for certificate requests and serves as the liaison with committees. Participates in the monitoring of artworks (removal and restoration requests).
2. Actively participates in the production of catalogues:
- Ensures that photographs are complete and participates in the layout;
- Participates in writing descriptions and then submits them for approval;
- Prepares condition reports and coordinates on-site photography.
3.Creates interest lists for sales in Paris.
4. Participates in the production of inventories and sales proposals for the department.
5. Receives training from department experts in the authentication and appraisal process.
6.Tracks and manages the physical inventory of objects in conjunction with the department administrators.
7. Ensures effective coordination with other departments at Sotheby’s Paris and the International Contemporary department.
8. Adheres to house rules and compliance rules in all interactions with clients.
