THE ROLE
The Brand Ambassador is responsible for representing Sotheby’s Asia Maison and GFA Salons in an engaging, and professional manner that reflects the vision of the Chairman & Creative Director, Sotheby’s Maison, Asia and the Sotheby’s brand identity.
The role focuses on increasing brand awareness, driving client engagement, and supporting sales efforts through events, social media, and outreach initiatives.
In addition, the Brand Ambassador will support the Chairman & Creative Director, Sotheby’s Maison, Asia in executing the curatorial vision for the space, including both the auction space, private selling shows and GFA Salons. Working under the leadership of the Chairman & Creative Director, Sotheby’s Maison, Asia, and in close partnership with internal stakeholders and teams, the role will drive the development and execution of the Hong Kong Maison programming strategy.
RESPONSIBILITIES
- Increase brand visibility and awareness through events, social media, and client outreach.
- Build and nurture relationships with clients, collectors, and partners to enhance brand engagement and loyalty.
- Support the Chairman & Creative Director, Sotheby’s Maison, Asia in executing the curatorial vision across the auction space and GFA Salons.
- Collaborate with internal teams to plan and deliver the Hong Kong Maison programming planning and strategy, ensuring alignment with the brand’s identity and objectives.
- Coordinate and host events, exhibitions, private selling shows and cultural activations that reinforce the brand’s positioning in the region.
- Develop creative content and storytelling initiatives to promote brand values and heritage.
- Gather market insights and client feedback to inform brand initiatives and client experience improvements.
- Establish strategic partnerships with artists, cultural institutions, luxury brands, and thought leaders to elevate the impact and visibility of special projects.
- Identify and secure sponsorships, grants, or alternative funding sources to support large-scale initiatives.
- Act as a brand advocate both online and offline, maintaining the highest standards of presentation and professionalism.
- Facilitate consignments and sales for private sales and auction activities
IDEAL EXPERIENCE & COMPETENCIES
- Proven experience in a client-facing, brand ambassador, or marketing communications role—preferably within the auction, luxury, art, fashion, or hospitality sectors.
- Strong understanding of brand positioning, storytelling, and audience engagement.
- Excellent interpersonal and presentation skills; confident in interacting with high-profile clients and partners.
- Strong sense of aesthetics and appreciation for art, design, and culture.
- Fluent in English, Cantonese and/or Mandarin
- Social media fluency with the ability to represent the brand’s voice authentically across platforms.
- Highly organized with the ability to manage multiple projects, events, and stakeholders simultaneously.
- Self-motivated, adaptable, and able to work both independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.
- Professional demeanor, discretion, and a genuine passion for the brand’s values and vision
