Sr. Business Analyst - Consent, Privacy & Regulatory Compliance
You'll need to be comfortable autonomously jumping into various domains, creating focus and order amid conflicting priorities in a fast-paced environment. Of course, this fluid dynamic is part of what makes SoundCloud so fun and organic.
Key Responsibilities:
- Requirements Gathering: You'll work with Business and Legal Affairs program management to understand privacy, consent, and regulatory priorities. From there, you’ll jump into various domains to generate and document detailed technical requirements for implementation. You are NOT required to be a privacy / consent / regulatory subject matter expert coming in - but need to be stellar at translating expertise from others into actionable work. Able to understand the essential components.
- Roadmapping: You’ll work with program management to create and maintain our engineering and delivery roadmaps. Though you won’t own coordinating the work - that’s on the program managers - we’ll need your knowledge along the way to ensure we’re hitting the mark on value.
- Risk Assessment: You’ll need to work with program / project management to identify risks associated with various initiatives.
- Instinct vs process: Though processes are invariably part of this framework, we first and foremost want you to be a critical thinker - always focused on North Star success criteria and adjusting where it makes sense
- Relationship building: At core, this is about building trust between human beings, so we want you to engage in building and nurturing relationships across the org. Many of our problems are best solved simply by knowing who to contact.
Experience and Background:
- Education: A Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or the equivalent hands-on experience that shows your chops.
- Experience: 5–8+ years as a business analyst, with progressive responsibility in requirements gathering, process mapping, and stakeholder management.
- Requirements Analysis: Proven ability to translate ambiguous business needs into clear, actionable, and testable requirements.
- Problem Solving: Strong analytical and critical-thinking skills; able to break down complex problems into structured, achievable steps.
- Communication: Excellent verbal and written communication skills, particularly in explaining technical or process concepts to non-technical audiences.
- Stakeholder Management: Skilled in facilitating discussions, balancing competing priorities, and building consensus across business and technical teams.
- Documentation: Experienced in creating effective requirements documentation, process flows, and other artifacts with attention to detail and clarity.
- Autonomy: Demonstrated ability to work independently, handle multiple priorities, and adapt to changing contexts without constant direction.
- Tools: Proficiency with requirements and visualization tools (e.g., Jira, Confluence, Miro, Google Sheets, Slides, etc).
