Operations Associate - Cash and Positions Management
Sound Point Capital Management, a credit-oriented investment manager overseeing approximately $32 billion in total assets, is seeking an Operations Associate for its Data Management team. This position will be reporting to the Senior Associate, working closely with other members of the operations team in order to support the various operational requirements for the firm.
Sound Point has a diverse product line which includes 42 CLOs and various funds that invest in stressed and distressed credit, commercial real estate, structured products, consumer loans, and corporate special situations. Based in New York, the firm employs approximately 165 talented individuals and has grown steadily since inception.
Job Responsibilities
· Set-up and manage new investments within the Security Master application.
· Analysis and reconciliation of data within the Security Master application.
· Update and streamline data feeds between Security Master application and upstream/downstream systems.
· Incorporate new data sources into the Security Master application.
· Onboarding of new portfolios across the platform into the order management system, accounting system, and any other downstream systems and feeds.
· Assist Compliance team to set up initial compliance restrictions and thresholds for new portfolios.
· Maintenance and retirement of existing portfolios across the platform.
· Onboarding of new brokers and counterparties.
· Maintain Approved Broker setups within trading applications.
· Maintenance and review of KYC information available on external platforms.
· Respond to all KYC requests from counterparties and administrative agents.
· Perform annual KYC updates.
· Periodically review KYC status of portfolios with active counterparties.
Qualifications
· 2-4 years previous experience in financial operations or accounting roles at a bank, asset manager, or fund administrator.
· Highly organized, with a working knowledge of the functions and life-cycles of different investment products such as bonds, bank loans, swaps, options, and equities.
· Strong skills in Microsoft Excel and Outlook.
· Particularly attentive to details, analytical in approach and able to handle stressful situations with ease.
· Experience with database accounting systems, order management systems and reconciliation systems is preferred.
· Knowledge of iHS Markit, Advent Geneva, Allvue Everest, or Indus Valley Partners (“IVP”) products is a plus.
· Prior fixed income operations (buyside or sell-side) is a plus.
· Undergraduate degree is required.
Salary Range
$85,000 - $125,000
