Senior Associate or Vice President, Hybrid Relationship Manager, Wealth Distribution

Sound Point Capital Management, a New York based credit-oriented investment manager overseeing approximately $44 billion in total assets, is seeking a Senior Associate or Vice President of Wealth Distribution. The Firm has expertise in credit strategies and manages money on behalf of institutions, pensions, foundations, insurance companies, wealth management firms, family offices and high net worth individuals. Our strategies span the spectrum of liquid and illiquid credit alternatives and includes funds and managed accounts focused on leveraged loans, CLOs, Opportunistic Credit, Private Credit, Structured Credit and Real Estate Credit. This is a tremendous opportunity for the right candidate to join an expanding platform and be instrumental in the development, implementation, and growth of the firm’s retail distribution strategy.
Responsibilities
The primary objective will be to effectively represent Sound Point and support business development and client retention efforts for our Wealth Division. Specifically, she/he will be primarily responsible for assisting in business development with wirehouses, RIAs, independent broker-dealers, and family offices.
Specific responsibilities include, but aren’t limited to:
- Support Wealth Division’s senior relationship managers to cultivate and expand the firm’s existing relationships with the universe of wealth management platforms, RIAs, independent broker-dealers and family offices.
- Combining the responsibilities of both inside and outside sales leveraging in person and virtual meetings to engage with prospects and clients.
- Scheduling and attending meetings, taking notes, maintaining pipelines, managing CRM.
- Develop and maintain strong working knowledge about the firm’s investment process and product offerings. Proficiency should enable the candidate to be self-sufficient in presenting in meetings.
Qualifications
- Minimum of five years of relevant experience in the investment industry.
- Demonstrated experience in sales organizations.
- Strong credit product knowledge or aptitude.
- Relationships with key decision makers and demonstrated success in engaging wealth channels as well as the alternatives platforms at major wirehouses, private banks and select broker-dealers.
- Excellent communications skills, both written and oral; candidate must have the ability to communicate complex ideas across multiple audiences and must be able to tailor communications to specific audiences.
- Demonstrated ability to work productively in a team environment; understands the importance of internal partnership, especially with portfolio managers and other marketers.
- Willingness and ability to travel as appropriate.
- Highly motivated professional with the ability to manage priorities, react to opportunities and deliver results.
- FINRA Series 7 and 63 required.
Salary Range
$130,000 - $175,000
