About the Role 

As our Director, Platform you will be the architect of our cloud ecosystem and big data backbone. You will lead and mentor a team of 6+ engineers, providing technical direction, code reviews, and career development. You will work closely with the project leadership team to define team priorities and grow platform capabilities aligned with business needs. Working cross-functionally across customer engagements, you are responsible for prioritizing and building a high-performance, containerized environment that supports both applications and massive data workloads for our customers. You will ensure all infrastructure is managed as code — fully automated, highly secure, and optimized for developers and data engineers.

What You'll Do

- Cloud & Container Orchestration: Design and manage scalable containerized environments (e.g., AWS ECS, Fargate, or Cloud Run). You set the standard for container deployment, networking, monitoring, and scaling.
- Data Cloud Management: Architect and govern our Snowflake and Databricks environments. You’ll ensure data warehouses and lakehouses are integrated seamlessly with our core infrastructure.
- Infrastructure as Code (IaC): Own the automation of the entire stack. From VPCs to Snowflake Warehouses and Databricks Clusters, everything must be provisioned via Terraform, OpenTofu, or equivalent.
- Security & Governance: Enforce a security-first culture: IAM/RBAC, secrets management, and data encryption. You’ll ensure our big data platform meets strict compliance and privacy standards (HiTrust, HIPAA, SOC2, etc.).
- CI/CD & Developer Experience: Build streamlined deployment pipelines that handle both application code and data transformations (e.g., dbt or EMR jobs).
- Cost Optimization (FinOps): Monitor and optimize cloud spend, with emphasis on Big Data compute and storage costs.

Required Qualifications

• Experience: 5+ years in Platform Engineering, DevOps, or Data Infrastructure.
• Container Mastery: Deep experience with Docker and production-grade container orchestration (e.g., ECS, Batch, Nomad, or managed container services).
• Big Data Ecosystems: Proven experience managing Snowflake (warehouses, roles, masking) or Databricks (Unity Catalog, Delta Lake, compute clusters).
• IaC Expert: Advanced proficiency in Terraform or equivalent IaC tools.
• Cloud Foundations: Expert knowledge of at least one major provider (AWS, Azure, or GCP), specifically networking, identity, and serverless technologies.
• Security Mindset: Practical experience with Zero-Trust architecture, vulnerability scanning, and securing large-scale data sets.
• English level C1 - C2

• Experience with international clients, ideally in USA
