Commissions Analyst

Job Overview

This person will play a pivotal role in ensuring the accuracy and integrity of the commission process for our global sales organization. You will be responsible for calculating and tracking commission payments as well as administering and auditing sales commission data. You will work closely with cross-functional teams to provide insights on commission data and suggest improvements, ensuring transparency and accuracy. Specifically, you will collaborate with RevOps, People Ops, and Payroll teams to manage new hires, terminations, and transfers. The ideal candidate has a background in sales commission compensation, excellent problem-solving skills, and the ability to manage multiple tasks with competing deadlines. 

Responsibilities:

  • Assist in the administration of our commissions process for the global field sales organization;  Responsible for the integrity of sales and commissions data in Xactly including monthly audits and data reviews to ensure commission accuracy 
  • Calculate and track commission payments for sales teams accurately and on time
  • Collaborate with Sales Ops, People Ops, and Payroll teams to process new hires, terminations and transfers; set up new hires in line with plan policies and procedures
  • Collaborate with sales teams to resolve any commission-related issues and ensure transparency
  • Utilize Excel, Gsheets, and Xactly Incent to manage large datasets, including creating, maintaining, and improving complex formulas and spreadsheets
  • Ensure data integrity by performing regular audits and identifying discrepancies in commission reports
  • Communicate effectively with cross-functional teams to provide insights on commission data and suggest improvements

Basic Qualifications:

  • 2+ years sales commission compensation and plan issuance experience
  • Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Business, Economics, or a related field
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, with the ability to create and manipulate formulas, pivot tables, and perform data analysis
  • Strong problem-solving skills with a high level of attention to detail
  • Excellent organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple tasks with competing deadlines
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively across departments
  • Ability to ensure accuracy in data and reporting while working with complex datasets

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience with Xactly Incent and Salesforce
  • Experience working with commission calculations or a related function (e.g., finance, accounting, or sales operations)
  • Previous experience in the software industry or at a recurring revenue business
  • Bonus: SQL basics

Compensation

Coursera offers competitive pay and equitable compensation practices. Our job titles may span more than one career level. This role's targeted hiring base salary range is between $69,200 and $86,500. The actual base pay is dependent upon many factors, including but not limited to prior work experiences, training/education, transferable skills, business needs, and geographical location. The base pay range is subject to change and may be modified in the future. This role may also be eligible for variable pay, equity, and benefits.
