About the Role
In this role, you'll play a central part in developing the core platform that energizes applications throughout the company, directly enhancing the experiences of our customers. At Sovrn, the Sovrn Platform team operates as a dynamic full-stack Agile Scrum team, dedicated to both engineering and operational management of our publisher-facing web portal.
What You’ll Be Doing:
- Develop and Enhance: Assist in the development and enhancement of our web platform. You’ll work under the guidance of senior developers on single-page applications (SPAs) and APIs, focusing on learning how to ensure scalability and seamless integration with other company products.
- Collaborate with Product Team: Work closely with the Product team to understand and contribute to the design of intuitive and engaging customer experiences that align with our business goals.
- Support Problem Solving: Participate in problem-solving with cross-functional teams. You’ll help identify issues and contribute to implementing solutions for platform integration, ensuring smooth operations.
- Learn and Apply Data-Driven Insights: Gain exposure to extending our platform and reporting tools. You’ll assist in enabling publishers to connect with and derive insights from multiple data sources, using technologies like React, TypeScript, and Node in an AWS environment.
- Contribute to the Codebase: Engage in coding projects, learning to manage code across multiple branches and understanding the importance of strict integration procedures and testing cycles.
- Adopt Best Practices: Learn and adopt software engineering best practices. Participate in code reviews and receive mentorship from more experienced team members, staying updated with the latest industry trends.
- Project Participation: Take on manageable parts of larger projects, learning to drive these components from concept to completion with a focus on quality and efficiency.
The Successful Candidate Will Have:
- Passion for Clean Code: You take pride in writing code that is not only functional but also clean, readable, and easy for others to maintain. You aim to make code reviews a breeze for your teammates.
- Eager to Make an Impact: Contribute meaningful pull requests (PRs). Your goal is to become an integral part of our projects.
- Web Development Skills: You have a foundational knowledge of modern web development technologies and techniques, including HTML5, CSS, and web components.
- Front-End Expertise: You have some experience with JavaScript/TypeScript and are familiar with modern libraries and frameworks like React, Redux, or Vue.
- API Proficiency: You’ve had some exposure to both consuming and producing REST APIs and are interested in learning more about ensuring seamless service communication.
- DevOps Orientation: With a budding interest in DevOps, you’re starting to see how this perspective can lead to building more robust and scalable solutions.
- Database Knowledge: You possess a working knowledge of different types of databases such as OLTP, OLAP, and NoSQL, and you’re curious about learning how to choose the right tools for specific tasks.
- Cloud Computing Basics: You understand the basics of cloud computing and are comfortable exploring more about how to use cloud infrastructure to build scalable applications. Any experience with AWS or other cloud platforms is a plus.
- Team Collaboration: You thrive in a collaborative environment and are keen on learning from others. You’re open to pairing up with peers and look forward to opportunities where you can both teach and learn.
Location: Boulder, CO - Candidates must currently live in, or are willing to relocate to the Boulder/Denver area. Sovrn’s hybrid schedule includes onsite in our Boulder office. #LI-Hybrid

Compensation and Benefits
In line with the Colorado Equal Pay for Equal Work Act, the expected salary range for this position in Boulder, Colorado is between $91,000 and $114,000. This range includes base salary along with any potential bonuses or commissions. Please note that the final compensation will be based on several factors including your work experience, skills, certifications, and location.
