SOURCING MANAGER, POWER PLANT MRO (STARLINK)

We are seeking a Sourcing Manager to support daily operations of power plants through sourcing of maintenance, repair, and operation (MRO) items and related supplies. In this role, you will handle procurement for consumables, spare parts, tools, and services needed for ongoing power plant maintenance and operations. You will work with plant teams to ensure timely supply, negotiate with vendors, manage purchase orders, and help control costs while maintaining quality and safety standards. This is a hands-on position focused on supporting reliable plant operations for SpaceXAI facilities. The ideal candidate has strong organizational skills, procurement experience, and a practical approach to supply chain tasks.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Source MRO items, spare parts, consumables, tools, and services required for daily power plant operations and maintenance
  • Work with plant engineers and operations teams to understand requirements and maintain accurate item lists and supplier information
  • Create and manage purchase orders, track deliveries, and resolve supply issues to minimize downtime
  • Negotiate pricing and terms with suppliers for MRO categories to achieve cost savings
  • Monitor inventory levels, support reorder processes, and help reduce excess stock
  • Qualify new suppliers and maintain relationships with existing vendors for reliable delivery
  • Track procurement KPIs such as on-time delivery, cost savings, and supplier performance
  • Ensure all purchases meet quality, safety, and compliance requirements
  • Support both permanent and temporary power plant sites with MRO needs

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Bachelor’s degree and 3+ years of experience working in one or more of the following; or 5+ years of experience working in one or more of the following in lieu of a degree:
    • Procurement
    • Buying
    • Supply Chain
    • MRO Sourcing

PREFERRED SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE:

  • Experience working with industrial equipment, spare parts, or plant maintenance supplies
  • Knowledge of power plant operations, electrical/mechanical systems, or energy infrastructure
  • Familiarity with MRO procurement, inventory management, and ERP systems
  • Strong negotiation and vendor management skills
  • Ability to work effectively with cross-functional teams in a plant environment
  • Detail-oriented with good organizational and problem-solving abilities
  • Passion for SpaceX's mission

ADDITIONAL REQUIREMENTS:

  • Willingness to travel occasionally to supplier sites or other facilities as needed
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment with shifting priorities
  • This position is based in Memphis, TN/Southaven, MS and requires being onsite
