Trader, Natural Gas (Supply Chain)

Cape Canaveral, FL

SpaceX was founded under the belief that a future where humanity is out exploring the stars is fundamentally more exciting than one where we are not. Today SpaceX is actively developing the technologies to make this possible, with the ultimate goal of enabling human life on Mars.

TRADER, NATURAL GAS (SUPPLY CHAIN)

SpaceX is on a fast track to become the market leader in various product categories like US-based human spaceflight, rapid vehicle reusability, internet services through the Starlink constellation, and other exciting projects. The SpaceX supply chain is a critical player in our operations to efficiently fuel our aspirations. To capitalize on SpaceX’s technological and market-changing successes, the Trader will be part of managing an agile, yet robust, supply chain that will enable a competitive advantage for SpaceX. This role focuses on physical and financial natural gas trading and supply optimization to secure reliable, cost-effective energy commodities that support launch operations, vehicle production, and related infrastructure. SpaceX's supply chain will play a key role in enabling SpaceX to meet these ambitious growth targets and greatly contribute to making humans a multi-planetary species.

  • Develop and maintain key internal stakeholder relationships (engineering, finance, legal) and external relationships with counterparties, brokers, suppliers, and market participants to evaluate sourcing/trading models, optimize value, support deal flow, and ensure continuity of supply.
  • Conduct comprehensive market, supplier, and counterparty analysis to formulate strategic plans that identify new sources, optimize cost models, and proactively ensure supply continuity for upcoming production, launch, and new product introduction campaigns.
  • Execute requests for information (RFIs), requests for proposal (RFPs), bid events, and negotiations; administer multimillion-dollar contracts and independently negotiate terminology, pricing, technical/scope requirements, terms involving responsibility, liability, indemnification, intellectual property, export compliance, and risk allocation.
  • Build a team responsible for scheduling, planning and model enhancement, supply/demand analysis (factoring regional and global dynamics), and broader desk/strategy development. Mentor junior team members as appropriate.
  • Ensure all trading and sourcing activities are conducted within appropriate authorities, risk guidelines/controls, compliance/regulatory frameworks (including applicable CFTC/FERC or equivalent), and company policies. Maintain highest ethical standards and integrity.

OMB Control Number 1250-0005
Expires 07/31/2029

Why are you being asked to complete this form?

We are a federal contractor or subcontractor. The law requires us to provide equal employment opportunity to qualified people with disabilities. We have a goal of having at least 7% of our workers as people with disabilities. The law says we must measure our progress towards this goal. To do this, we must ask applicants and employees if they have a disability or have ever had one. People can become disabled, so we need to ask this question at least every five years.

Completing this form is voluntary, and we hope that you will choose to do so. Your answer is confidential. No one who makes hiring decisions will see it. Your decision to complete the form and your answer will not harm you in any way. If you want to learn more about the law or this form, visit the U.S. Department of Labor’s Office of Federal Contract Compliance Programs (OFCCP) website at www.dol.gov/ofccp.
