Supervisor, Security Protective Operations Center

SUPERVISOR, SECURITY PROTECTIVE OPERATIONS CENTER 

We are seeking a proactive, action-oriented leader to oversee the daily operations of the Memphis SPOC team. This role ensures facilities and personnel remain safe, secure, and fully operational. While based in Memphis, you will collaborate continuously with other SPOC teams nationwide. You will facilitate SPOC Operator duties, uphold SPOC standards and requirements, and partner with internal stakeholders and external vendors to fulfill all requests and responsibilities. Close coordination with fellow SPOC leaders is essential to drive consistency and continuity across all sites. This position is for a self-starter who takes initiative, owns outcomes, and drives results—rather than waiting to triage, delegate, or be directed.

RESPONSIBILITIES

• Report to the SPOC Manager and demonstrate a high degree of diplomacy, flexibility, and adaptability.
• Oversee security programs, projects, protocols, and policies at the direction of the SPOC Manager; ensure consistent execution of new duties and timely completion of all requests.
• Supervise, mentor, and develop personnel, including conducting performance reviews and identifying/recommending training as needed.
• Maintain in-depth technical knowledge of all SPOC tools (Everbridge, Ambient, Dataminr, Ontic, Genetec, etc.) and serve as an administrator for these systems.
• Identify opportunities and risks, dive deep into issues, and partner with internal and external teams to implement solutions. Deliver routine metrics and insights on Memphis-site incidents and recommend effective changes to leadership.
• Communicate clearly with senior management and organizational leaders to align on security priorities and direction.
• Demonstrate a thorough understanding of the Memphis organizational chart, including key leaders who must be notified during emergencies.
• Identify all Memphis/Mississippi locations by address and map.

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS

• High school diploma or equivalency certificate
• 6+ years of combined experience in one or more of the following:
• 4+ years in a Security Operations Center
• 4+ years as a security officer, military, or law enforcement professional
• 1+ years in SpaceX or SpaceXAI GSOC environment 

PREFERRED SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE

• 3+ years in a supervisory role
• Bachelor’s degree in a related field, or equivalent combination of professional experience, education, and training
• Active U.S. Security Clearance (or ability to obtain)
• Familiarity with Department of Homeland Security CFATS (Chemical Facility Anti-Terrorism Standards) and NISPOM (National Industrial Security Program Operating Manual)
• Experience with OSINT tools and proximity-based incident reporting to stay ahead of nearby threats
• Prior experience directing large teams across all areas of security management
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, PowerPoint, Word, Outlook)
• Project management experience, including ensuring programs are fully executed and new processes are adopted by the team
• Strong oral and written communication skills, with the ability to think clearly, solve problems, define process requirements, and prioritize effectively

ADDITIONAL REQUIREMENTS

• Willingness to work all shifts, extended hours, and/or weekends as needed
• Willingness to travel up to 25%
• Ability to pass Air Force and NASA background checks for installation access
• Ability to obtain a TS/SCI clearance
• An active clearance may enable work on sensitive SpaceX missions; if so, you will be subject to pre-employment and random drug and alcohol testing
• Position requires pre-employment enhanced screening, including a background check, psychological test, bi-annual physical fitness test, and drug/alcohol testing
• Position is subject to random drug and alcohol testing
