Starlink Communications Manager (Campaign Management)

Bastrop, TX

SpaceX was founded under the belief that a future where humanity is out exploring the stars is fundamentally more exciting than one where we are not. Today SpaceX is actively developing the technologies to make this possible, with the ultimate goal of enabling human life on Mars.

STARLINK COMMUNICATIONS MANAGER (CAMPAIGN MANAGEMENT)

The Communications Manager owns the data, logic, and reporting that run consumer email: audience definitions, targeting rules, eligibility and offer logic, conditional content, and conversion measurement. The role keeps that logic current against product and brief, validates audiences before send, and documents sources, decision rules, and results so every program is reproducible in production.

That stack powers the full consumer email lifecycle: evergreen, promotional, nurture, abandoned cart, and related pre-purchase sequences, plus platform-based automated post-purchase email, install/activation messaging, and upsell/upgrade programs. The manager builds thematic and behavior-triggered follow-ups (Reliability, Hardware, Pricing, and similar) and segment-specific campaigns (Residential, Roam, market). A/B tests run as repeatable production campaigns, with the manager owning who gets which offer, the campaigns themselves, and the reporting that shows what converted.

High-complexity templates, launch-driven updates (for example India), and production reliability live in this role as documented, shared systems. The manager keeps programs running in production.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Own audience definitions, targeting rules, eligibility logic, nested conditionals, and conversion reporting for consumer email; keep them current against product and brief.
  • Validate and document sources, decision rules, and results so every send is reproducible and auditable in production
  • Issue a write-up for each campaign, confirm it matches requirements before go-live, and own ongoing performance reporting after instrumentation: dashboards and regular reporting on sends, clicks, attributed orders, conversion vs. other markets, and post-purchase revenue impact
  • Own pre-purchase sequences end-to-end: nurture, abandoned cart, and related lead follow-up — targeting, branching logic, and content
  • Own all platform-based automated post-purchase emails: targeting, nested conditional logic, templates, triggers, and production reliability
  • Keep high-complexity templates current as documented, shared production assets
  • Scale upsell and upgrade campaign management — eligibility logic, audience rules, testing, and reporting — into repeatable, high-volume programs
  • Support Residential- and Roam-specific campaigns with distinct tracking, organized tests, and market-level conversion reporting
  • Stand up behavior-based sends using existing tools and documented processes (for example, a reliability email to leads who visited the Reliability page)
  • Run A/B tests as versioned, repeatable campaigns and promote winning variants into standard programs
  • Partner with the platform/engineering team to identify capability gaps (audience tooling, template complexity, trigger reliability, reporting) and advocate for software-engineering work that unblocks scale

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Bachelor’s degree
  • 3+ years in lifecycle marketing, CRM, growth, or consumer communications, owning automated email programs in production

PREFERRED SKILLS AND EXPERIENCES:

  • Bachelor’s degree in communications, marketing, journalism, business, economics, or a related field
  • SQL or equivalent ability to define and QA audiences
  • Hands-on experience with audience definitions, targeting rules, eligibility logic, and conditional content
  • Experience running A/B tests as versioned, repeatable campaigns and reporting on conversion
  • Subscription or hardware + service journeys (order, install/activate, retain, expand)
  • Comfort with dashboards and performance metrics (sends, clicks, attributed orders, revenue impact)
  • Ability to document sources, logic, and results and to validate audiences before send
  • Complex production templates, nested conditionals, and launch-driven email updates across markets
  • Segment-specific programs (e.g. Residential, Roam) with distinct tracking and market-level reporting
  • Working with platform/engineering partners on audience tooling, trigger reliability, and reporting gaps

ADDITIONAL REQUIREMENTS:

  • Available to work extended hours and/or weekends as needed
  • Willingness to travel as needed

ITAR REQUIREMENTS:

  • To conform to U.S. Government export regulations, applicant must be a (i) U.S. citizen or national, (ii) U.S. lawful, permanent resident (aka green card holder), (iii) Refugee under 8 U.S.C. § 1157, or (iv) Asylee under 8 U.S.C. § 1158, or be eligible to obtain the required authorizations from the U.S. Department of State.
