Production Coordinator, Silicon Assembly (Starlink)

Bastrop, TX

SpaceX was founded under the belief that a future where humanity is out exploring the stars is fundamentally more exciting than one where we are not. Today SpaceX is actively developing the technologies to make this possible, with the ultimate goal of enabling human life on Mars.

PRODUCTION COORDINATOR, SILICON ASSEMBLY (STARLINK)

As a Production Coordinator, you will keep silicon package production moving — coordinating workflows, tracking metrics, and clearing blockers so the team hits aggressive delivery schedules without compromising quality. You will work closely with engineering, supply chain, operations, and the production floor in a fast-paced manufacturing environment, supporting the build of packages used in Starlink products from early builds through high-volume output. The ideal candidate is motivated by Starlink’s mission to deliver high-speed, low-latency global connectivity.

Key Responsibilities

  • Coordinate daily production for the silicon packaging line, including scheduling, material flow, and resource allocation to meet delivery commitments
  • Track and report production status, yields, cycle times, and bottlenecks using manufacturing execution systems (MES) and other tools
  • Liaise with engineering, quality, supply chain, and operations to resolve issues quickly and keep production on track
  • Maintain accurate production records and inventory of critical materials (wafers, substrates, die, encapsulants, and related items)
  • Support continuous improvement, 5S, and lean initiatives on the packaging floor to reduce waste and improve throughput
  • Assist with new product introduction (NPI) and ramp-up of new packaging processes and equipment
  • Ensure compliance with quality standards, ESD protocols, and cleanroom or controlled-environment procedures

Basic Qualifications

  • High school diploma or GED
  • 2+ years of experience in a production, manufacturing, or operations coordinator role

Preferred Skills & Experience

  • Experience in semiconductor packaging, die attach, wire bonding, encapsulation, or similar processes
  • Familiarity with MES systems
  • Knowledge of ESD, cleanroom protocols, and IPC/JEDEC standards
  • Experience supporting high-reliability or aerospace/space hardware production
  • Strong communication skills and ability to work cross-functionally
  • Associate’s degree or relevant technical certification is a plus
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office (Excel, especially) and ability to learn manufacturing software quickly
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced, high-volume production environment and handle shifting priorities

Additional Requirements

  • Must be able to work extended hours and weekends as needed to support production ramps and critical deliveries
  • Standing for long periods of time, climbing up and down ladders, bending, grasping, sitting, pulling, pushing, stooping, and stretching may be required to perform the functions of this position
