What is Spade?
Spade’s API delivers clean, structured transaction data for modern financial institutions. In real-time, we link each payment to a verified business in our proprietary merchant database, returning standardized merchant names, categories, and geolocation fields. Customers like Stripe, FIS, Bilt, Corpay, Mercury, and Unit use Spade to support real-time authorization, personalize experiences, attribute rewards accurately, and streamline downstream analytics.

What will you do?
- Improve data quality and performance for customers by participating in QA initiatives, spot-checking transactions, and monitoring recurring issues
- Suggest improvements to tools, automation, or processes to enhance accuracy and efficiency
- Collaborate with Data Science, Engineering, and Product Ops to escalate bugs and refine QA workflows
- Create and maintain clear documentation of QA findings, resolutions, and troubleshooting steps to support process improvement and training
What experience, skills, and qualifications are necessary?
- 1–3 years of experience in an operations, support, or QA-related role
- Located on the East Coast (EST time zone)
- Analytical with strong problem-solving skills
- Proficient in Excel/Sheets
- Ability to follow SOPs and workflows consistently
- Comfortable with independent, repetitive work
- Curious and eager to improve processes
- Nice to have: Experience with tools like Notion or Linear, familiarity with BI tools (Looker, Tableau, Hex, etc.), and basic SQL knowledge

Salary Range:
- At Spade, we view total compensation as consisting of salary + equity + benefits. We recruit motivated and high performing talent, and work to compensate people in line with the value they bring to our team.
- We aim to pay fairly and competitively, and consider a number of factors in developing compensation offers. These factors include years and breadth of experience, interview performance, market dynamics, and internal equity.
- The anticipated base salary range for this role is between $75,000 and $90,000, and an equity grant.
