ROLE & RESPONSIBILITIES: 

  • Represents the “voice of the customer.”
  • Creating, maintaining, and prioritizing the product backlog by defining user stories, acceptance criteria, and dependencies to ensure the team understands what needs to be built.
  • Gathering feedback from customers, business stakeholders, and other teams to create a product roadmap and inform product decisions and prioritize features based on business value.
  • Documenting the customer journey and identifying ways to improve customer pain points based on process optimization, technology, change management, or communication.
  • Articulating the product vision, defining key product goals, and communicating them to the team and stakeholders.
  • Working closely with developers, designers, and testers to ensure the team understands product requirements and delivers high-quality features.
  • Participating in sprint / PI planning sessions to select the most valuable work for each sprint/iteration and ensure the team is aligned on priorities.
  • Collaborating with the team to plan product releases, manage timelines, and set realistic expectations.
  • Reviewing user stories and acceptance criteria to guarantee the product meets quality standards.
  • Clearly communicating complex product requirements to technical and non-technical audiences.
  • Deep understanding of user needs and the ability to translate them into actionable product features.
  • Good understanding of software development processes and technologies to collaborate effectively with the development team.
  • Inspiring and leading the team towards achieving product goals while fostering a collaborative environment.
  • Detect and resolve conflicts and product risks and contribute to creation of test scenarios.
  • Define and review KPIs to track product success.

REQUIRED EXPERIENCE: 

  • 5+ years of experience working as a Product Owner or Product Manager
  • Strong understanding of the product development life cycle and product management processes with a product mindset.
  • Ability to work collaboratively with stakeholders and development teams
  • Experience working with agile development methodologies
  • Passion for technology and innovative ideas to improve customer experience.
  • Experience with collaboration and tracking tools, such as JIRA, Confluence, and other agile tools.
  • Knowledge of software development tools and project management software
  • Must have any one of the certifications (CSPO and/or A-CSPO and/or CSP-PO and/or POPM and/or APM and/or PSPO I/II/III)
  • Outstanding communication, presentation, and leadership skills
  • Candidates must be able to obtain and maintain a Public Trust clearance
  • Candidates must have lived in the United States 3 out of the past 5 years

PREFERRED EXPERIENCE: 

  • Experience with federal contracts (preferably HHS/CMS)
  • Experience with health IT industry
  • Agile certification

EDUCATION & CERTIFICATIONS:

  • Bachelor's degree in computer science, engineering, or related field
  • 8+ years of experience in IT
