Dental Assistant at Pediatric Dental OKC
Pediatric Dental OKC is seeking a compassionate, dependable, and enthusiastic Dental Assistant to join our pediatric dental team. What You'll Do
As a Dental Assistant, you will work closely with pediatric dentists and the clinical team to provide efficient, compassionate care to young patients. You will help prepare treatment areas, assist during procedures, maintain accurate records, and help children feel comfortable and confident throughout their dental visits.
Your responsibilities will include:

Assist the dentist during examinations, restorative procedures, and other dental treatments

Prepare treatment rooms, instruments, and materials for patient care

Take and develop dental X-rays as permitted by applicable state regulations and practice protocols

Assist with dental procedures, including fillings, crowns, sealants, and other pediatric treatments
-
Prepare materials and equipment for procedures and sedation appointments as directed
-
Help patients feel comfortable and engaged throughout their dental visit

Provide age-appropriate communication and reassurance to children and families
-
Maintain accurate and complete patient records and clinical documentation
-
Follow OSHA, HIPAA, infection control, and sterilization protocols

Clean, disinfect, and properly maintain treatment areas and instruments
-
Monitor and maintain appropriate inventory of clinical supplies
-
Assist with patient flow and operatory turnover to keep the schedule running efficiently

Communicate effectively with dentists, hygienists, front office team members, and other clinical staff

Support the team in providing a safe, positive, and welcoming experience for every patient

Perform other duties and responsibilities as assigned
Preferred Qualifications:

Previous dental assisting experience preferred
-
Pediatric dental experience is a plus

Dental assisting certification or credentialing as required by applicable state regulations

Current CPR/BLS certification as required

Knowledge of dental terminology, instruments, and clinical procedures

Strong attention to detail and organizational skills

Excellent communication and interpersonal skills

Ability to remain calm, patient, and positive when working with children

Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment

Dependable, punctual, and committed to providing exceptional patient care
