What You'll Do
As a Dental Assistant, you will work closely with the dentist and clinical team to provide efficient, compassionate care to pediatric patients. You will help prepare treatment areas, assist with procedures, support patient comfort, and maintain a safe and organized clinical environment.
Your responsibilities will include:

Assist the dentist during examinations, restorative procedures, and other pediatric dental treatments

Prepare treatment rooms, instruments, and materials for patient care

Take dental X-rays as permitted by applicable state regulations and practice protocols

Assist with preventive and restorative procedures, including fillings, crowns, sealants, and other treatments
-
Prepare materials and equipment for procedures and sedation appointments as directed
-
Help children feel comfortable, safe, and confident throughout their dental visits

Use age-appropriate communication to explain procedures and help ease patient anxiety
-
Maintain accurate and complete patient records and clinical documentation
-
Clean, disinfect, and properly prepare treatment rooms and instruments
-
Follow OSHA, HIPAA, infection control, sterilization, and other applicable safety standards

Assist with operatory turnover and maintaining efficient patient flow

Monitor clinical supplies and communicate inventory needs to the appropriate team member

Work collaboratively with the dentist, hygienist, and other clinical team members

Support a positive, welcoming experience for patients and families

Perform other duties and responsibilities as assigned
Preferred Qualifications:

Previous dental assisting experience preferred

Pediatric dental experience is a plus

Dental assisting certification or credentialing as required by applicable state regulations

Current CPR/BLS certification as required

Knowledge of dental terminology, instruments, and clinical procedures

Strong attention to detail and organizational skills

Excellent communication and interpersonal skills

Ability to remain patient, calm, and positive when working with children

Comfortable working with children of varying ages, personalities, and needs

Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment

Dependable, punctual, and committed to providing exceptional patient care
