Anthem Pediatric Dentistry & Orthodontics is seeking a friendly, skilled, and compassionate Dental Assistant to join our team. What You'll Do

As a Dental Assistant, you will support our dentists and clinical team in providing efficient, compassionate care to pediatric patients while helping children feel comfortable and confident throughout their dental visits.

Your responsibilities will include:

  • Assist the dentist during examinations, treatments, and procedures

  • Prepare operatories, instruments, and materials for scheduled appointments

  • Take dental X-rays as permitted by applicable state regulations and practice protocols

  • Assist with preventive and restorative procedures, including cleanings, sealants, fluoride treatments, fillings, and crowns

  • Assist with orthodontic procedures as needed

  • Support the clinical team during sedation appointments and follow established patient safety protocols

  • Help children feel comfortable and supported throughout their appointments

  • Communicate with parents and caregivers regarding treatment instructions and post-operative care as directed by the dentist

  • Maintain accurate and timely patient records and clinical documentation

  • Clean, disinfect, and prepare operatories between patients

  • Sterilize and properly maintain dental instruments and equipment

  • Follow all infection control, OSHA, and safety protocols

  • Monitor clinical supplies and communicate replenishment needs

  • Work closely with the front office and clinical team to maintain efficient patient flow

  • Maintain a clean, organized, and welcoming clinical environment

  • Perform other duties as assigned

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Dental assisting experience preferred; pediatric dental experience is a plus

  • Dental Assistant certification/registration as required by applicable state regulations

  • Radiology certification as required by applicable state regulations

  • Experience working with children and families preferred

  • Knowledge of dental terminology, instruments, and clinical procedures

  • Understanding of infection control and sterilization procedures

  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills

  • Ability to remain calm, patient, and reassuring with children who may be anxious or fearful

  • Strong attention to detail and ability to follow established protocols

  • Ability to multitask and work effectively in a fast-paced environment

  • Professional, dependable, and team-oriented
