Associate Accountant

We are seeking an early career Associate Accountant to join our growing Finance team. This role is ideal for someone looking to build a strong foundation in corporate accounting while gaining hands-on experience in a dynamic, mission driven company. The Associate Accountant will support the month end close process, vendor and expense management, and compliance activities, while contributing to continuous improvements in overall accounting operations. 

Salary Range: Base salary annually, commensurate with experience  

  • Associate level: $60,000 - $85,000  

Location: This position is remote, based in the U.S., with travel for events and occasional in-person company gatherings  

  • Candidate must be authorized to work and reside in the United States; we currently do not sponsor immigration visas.  

Responsibilities 

  • Participate in month end closing activities, including preparing and posting journal entries, reconciling bank and general ledger accounts, and ensuring accurate financial reporting. 
  • Assist in managing vendor payment cycles, including invoice processing, approval workflows, and vendor communications. 
  • Support the expense reimbursement process and provide basic system administration support for expense platforms. 
  • Help administer the corporate purchasing card program, ensuring compliance with company policies. 
  • Contribute to corporate and sales tax compliance reporting by preparing schedules and supporting filings. 
  • Assist with the preparation of monthly financial statements and related reporting packages. 
  • Prepare schedules and documentation to support annual audits and other compliance reviews. 
  • Perform ad hoc accounting projects and duties as assigned by leadership. 

Requirements 

  • Bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance or related field  
  • 1–3 years of accounting experience  
  • Basic knowledge of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP)  
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel; experience with accounting or ERP systems preferred. 
  • Strong attention to detail, organizational, and problem-solving skills. 
  • Effective written and verbal communication skills. 
  • Eagerness to learn, collaborate, and contribute to a fast-paced environment.
