Position Summary
The District Manager is an individual contributor role, responsible for managing clients within your territory primarily (Northern California, Washington, Oregon), with clients in surrounding states as well), and will sell the full bag of Spectrum Vascular products, including central venous catheters (CVC), peripherally inserted central catheters (PICC), pressure monitoring catheters, intraosseous needles and other related products. The position will focus within a defined medium to large size territory with new and existing business accounts while developing and maintaining long-term relationships with hospital personnel and distribution partners to facilitate future sales growth. Additional call points and stakeholders, include: Vascular Access Team, ICU, ED, Med Surg, CNO, Nursing, Infection Prevention and Supply Chain.
Role Responsibilities
- Develop and maintain key physician and hospital contacts to achieve corporate objectives while servicing the customer to meet their needs.
- Consistently achieve and/or exceed individual sales goals assigned by Regional Management using persuasive communication and effective selling skills.
- Keep up-to-date on all product, clinical and procedural knowledge as it relates to the products being sold within a specific territory.
- Effectively manage assigned territory through sales activities such as territory analysis, prospects, growing and maintaining existing accounts, and trials/evaluations.
- Maintain business climate awareness and industry knowledge in order to implement successful sales strategies.
- Develop quarterly business plans with identified key account targets for each main product category.
- Ensure a superior customer service orientation with each account.
- Maintain the highest level of professionalism at all times both externally with customers and internally with Company employees.
- Keep management and sales personnel aware of any selling tips, success stories and suggestions that may help the sales organization.
- Provide ongoing information to Sales Management and Marketing on all competitive activities and product introductions or evaluations through the respective geographic boundaries.
- Report all weekly sales activities via call reports to Regional Business Manager and home office.
- Submit weekly expense report when necessary and adheres to expense policy and procedures.
- Maintain specific account knowledge within assigned territory such as: key decision makers in each department, department hierarchy, products used and how they are used, company products and competitor’s products, and hospital programs.
- Consistently communicate new product ideas and potential improvements to sales and marketing management.
- May help introduce new product prototypes to various centers of influence and follows up these introductions when asked by the Marketing Department.
- Must maintain a valid driver’s license.
Education and Experience
- Bachelor Level of Degree in the Business, Marketing or related field of study strongly preferred
- Equivalent work-related experience acceptable in lieu of degree
- Five years of demonstrated experience in sales, medical device strongly preferred
- No Certifications Required; however, must satisfy certain credentialing requirements
Skills/Knowledge
- Proven track record of sales success
- Must be self-motivated
- Proficient in the following computer software applications: Microsoft Office
- Exceptional interpersonal skills.
- Strong organizational skills.
- Strong communication skills (written and verbal).
- Ability to effectively communicate both internally and externally.
- Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance. instructions, and procedure manuals. Ability to write routine reports and correspondence.
Qualifications
- 4+ years of successful Medical Device or critical/acute care experience strongly preferred.
- Excellent communication, interpersonal, analytical and large account leadership skills.
- Demonstrated sales track record, proven negotiation skills, exhibit effective selling, listening, and verbal/presentation skills, and ability to assess and respond to customer needs.
- Demonstrated experience leading both internal and external budgets and resources, conducting pre-call planning, and ability to prioritize and segment accounts.
- Intermediate proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel and PowerPoint required.
- Must be willing to travel at least 50%.
- Must possess and maintain a valid state-issued driver's license and meet Spectrum Vascular's auto safety standa
Specialized Skills / Other Requirements
- Complete gowning procedures in the hospital.
- Must be able to establish and maintain vendor credentials (via RepTrax, Vendormate, etc) to have the ability to enter and work, as required, in hospitals and other medical facilities, as an essential function of the job.
- Possess a valid driver's license and operate a motor vehicle with satisfactory driving records.
- Carry detail bag weighing up to 20 lbs.
- Lift equipment weighing up to 30 lbs.
- Be standing or walking in numerous hospitals or at meetings for 6 - 10 hours per day, up to five (5) days per week.

- Market Compensation with full benefits, bonus and above market commission structure with matching 401k.
