Role Description:
The Director of Supply Chain is responsible for overseeing and optimizing the end-to-end supply chain strategy, including procurement, planning, inventory management, logistics, distribution, and supplier relationships. This role ensures efficient operations, cost control, and high service levels while aligning supply chain activities with organizational goals. The Director will lead cross-functional initiatives to improve processes, strengthen supplier partnerships, and enhance supply chain resilience.
Role Responsibilities:
Supply Chain Strategy & Leadership
· Develop and implement supply chain strategies aligned with company objectives and growth plans.
· Lead and mentor supply chain, procurement, planning, and logistics teams.
· Establish KPIs and performance metrics to monitor supplier performance, operational efficiency, and service levels.
· Drive continuous improvement initiatives to enhance supply chain performance.
Procurement & Supplier Management
· Oversee sourcing strategies, supplier selection, and contract negotiations.
· Build and maintain strong supplier relationships to ensure quality, reliability, and cost efficiency.
· Drive cost reduction and supplier consolidation strategies to create enterprise value
· Manage supplier performance and implement risk mitigation strategies.
Inventory & Demand Planning
· Direct demand forecasting and supply planning processes.
· Optimize inventory levels to balance service levels with working capital goals.
· Implement inventory control practices to reduce waste and obsolescence.
Logistics & Distribution
· Oversee our 3PL, transportation, and warehousing operations.
· Ensure efficient product flow from suppliers to customers.
· Identify opportunities to reduce logistics costs while maintaining service standards.
Operational Excellence
· Implement supply chain technology and analytics to improve decision-making.
· Identify process improvements and automation opportunities.
· Ensure compliance with regulatory, safety, and company policies.
Cross-Functional Collaboration
· Work closely with finance, sales, operations, and product teams to align supply chain activities.
· Support product launches and business expansion initiatives.
· Provide strategic insights to executive leadership regarding supply chain risks and opportunities.
Role Requirements:
Education
· Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, Logistics, Engineering or a related field.
· Master’s degree (MBA or related field) preferred.
Experience
· 8–12+ years of progressive experience in supply chain, procurement, logistics, or operations.
· 3–5+ years in a leadership or management role.
· Negotiation of cost reductions, vendor consolidation programs, and supply contracts required
· ERP systems implementation, especially QAD
· Systematic management of suppliers including establishment of KPIs required
· Experience managing complex supply chains in manufacturing, distribution, or retail environments preferred
· Medical device, aerospace, and/or regulated industry experience preferred
Skills & Competencies
· Strong strategic planning and analytical skills.
· Expertise in supply chain planning, procurement, and logistics management.
· Experience with QAD and other ERP systems
· Excellent leadership, communication, and negotiation skills.
· Ability to manage multiple projects and drive organizational change.

Working Conditions
· Office environment with occasional travel to supplier sites, warehouses, and distribution centers.
