ABOUT THE ROLE
Sphinx Defense is hiring a Control Account Manager (CAM) to join our team and support the successful execution of mission-critical software solutions and systems for space ground programs. As a growing defense technology company, we deliver innovative software solutions that enable secure, resilient, and operationally relevant capabilities across the national security space.

This Control Account Manager (CAM) role is designed for a highly organized and analytical professional who thrives at the intersection of program execution, financial performance, and strategic planning. You enjoy bringing structure to complex programs, partnering across technical and business teams, and using data to drive informed decisions.

In this role, you’ll work closely with Program Managers, Engineering Leads, and company leadership to manage program performance, maintain cost and schedule visibility, and support the successful delivery of customer commitments. You’ll play a key role in ensuring programs remain aligned with budget, schedule, and technical objectives while helping Sphinx scale its operational excellence.

What you will be focusing on:

  • Managing assigned control accounts and supporting program execution through planning, budgeting, forecasting, and performance analysis. 
  • Developing and maintaining Earned Value Management (EVM) processes, metrics, and reporting across assigned programs.
  • Tracking and analyzing program performance metrics, including ETC, EAC, CPI, SPI, variance analysis, and corrective action plans.
  • Maintaining parallel program tracking systems and databases, performing aggregate analysis across multiple data sources to ensure alignment, reporting accuracy, and actionable program insights.
  • Partnering with subcontractor-led Control Account Managers (CAMs) and external stakeholders to support the collection, validation, integration, and reporting of program performance data, ensuring alignment with contract requirements and EVMS processes.
  • Supporting the development and maintenance of Integrated Master Schedules (IMS), resource planning, and baseline management activities, including participation in Integrated Baseline
  • Reviews (IBRs), Joint Surveillance Reviews (JSRs), and DCMA compliance audits, as applicable.
  • Partnering with Program Managers and Engineering teams to identify risks, opportunities, and performance trends, while supporting and maintaining a comprehensive Risk, Issue, and Opportunity (RIO) management process.
  • Preparing and presenting program status reports, financial analyses, and executive-level briefings.
  • Cross-collaborating among teams to ensure alignment between program execution and contractual requirements, including coordination across multiple networks, systems, and classification environments when required.
  • Assisting with proposal efforts, basis of estimate development, and program startup planning activities when needed.
  • Continuously improving program controls, reporting processes, and operational efficiencies across the organization.

You might be a good fit if you:

  • Have 5+ years of experience in Control Account Management, Program Controls, Program Finance, Project Management, Cost/Schedule Management, or a related discipline supporting defense or government programs.
  • Have hands-on experience with Earned Value Management Systems (EVMS) and understand cost, schedule, and performance management principles.
  • Are comfortable analyzing complex data sets and translating them into actionable insights.
  • Have experience supporting government contracts and understand FAR, EVMS, and program execution best practices.
  • Possess strong financial acumen and experience with forecasting, budgeting, and variance analysis.
  • Have worked closely with technical, engineering, and program management teams in a cross-functional environment.
  • Are highly organized and capable of managing multiple priorities simultaneously.
  • Communicate effectively with stakeholders ranging from individual contributors to executive leadership and customers.
  • Have experience using and integrating tools such as MS Project, Excel, Google Sheets, Jira, Confluence, GitLab, and similar platforms to support program controls, reporting, forecasting, performance tracking, and data consistency across multiple systems and technical environments.
  • Have experience integrating project controls, scheduling, cost management, and reporting tools to support effective program execution and performance tracking.
  • Are a proactive problem solver who enjoys improving processes and driving operational excellence.
  • Hold a PMP, CAM Certification, EVMS Certification, or similar credential (preferred, not required).Have the ability to obtain and maintain a U.S. TS/SCI security clearance

LOCATION
Remote within the United States, with up to 20% travel to customer sites, secure facilities, and company meetings as required.

COMPENSATION
This role is between $134,000 and 185,000 base salary.

Must be a US Citizen.
Must be able to obtain and hold a U.S. TS/SCI security clearance.
