ABOUT THE ROLE:

Splash Financial is seeking a highly analytical and creative Data Scientist to join our growing Credit team. In this role, you’ll play a critical part in shaping the future of our lending programs by leveraging data, building models, and presenting insights that directly influence business strategy. You’ll collaborate closely with leadership, cross-functional teams, and lending partners to identify opportunities, mitigate risks, and ensure we deliver on both growth and credit expectations.

WHAT YOU’LL DO AT SPLASH:

  • Analyze and interpret complex data to uncover actionable insights that drive business decisions.
  • Develop clean, efficient Python code to support data analysis, automation, and modeling.
  • Conduct robust quantitative analyses to identify risks and opportunities, helping us exceed credit performance expectations while supporting growth.
  • Present insights and recommendations to the Credit Committee and lending partners with clarity and impact.
  • Contribute to our collaborative, fully remote culture by sharing ideas, knowledge, and best practice.

WHAT YOU’LL BRING TO SPLASH:

  • A strong quantitative mindset—naturally curious and confident working with large datasets.
  • Creativity and a willingness to challenge assumptions with fresh perspectives.
  • 1–2 years of hands-on experience with SQL and Python for data queries and A/B testing analysis (required). Fintech or credit risk experience is a plus.
  • Familiarity with loss forecasting models in Python (big plus).
  • Excellent communication skills—able to collaborate across teams, influence stakeholders, and present findings effectively.
  • A bachelor’s degree in a quantitative field (master’s degree preferred).

COMPENSATION:

The base salary range for this role is $110,000 - $130,000 annually, based on market data and internal compensation practices.  Final compensation will be determined by factors such as location, experience, and skill level.
