Corporate Development Contractor

Location: Hybrid – London, UK or New York City

Primary Point of Contact: VP, Corporate Development

THE ROLE

The Corporate Development Contractor blends strategic market thinking with operational business rigor. Over a 3-6 month engagement, you'll support the VP, Corporate Development in shaping and executing Splice's M&A strategy in a fast-changing external market, working directly alongside our VP, Corporate Development across the full deal lifecycle: origination, research and pipeline management, strategic deal thesis formation, cross-functional alignment, valuation, diligence, transaction execution, and post-merger integration.

Internally, you'll act as a strategic business partner to leaders across Splice, helping shape the growth, performance, and direction of the business by working directly with business unit leadership teams to understand performance drivers, evaluate growth opportunities, and ensure the business operates with strong economic discipline.

This work sits at the intersection of Corporate Development, Strategic Finance, and Business Insight, bringing analytical rigor and strategic thinking to key business decisions. Translating market signals and complex data into actionable insight, supporting capital allocation decisions, and identifying opportunities to accelerate growth and operational improvement will be critical to your success.

WHAT YOU'LL DO 

M&A

• Support the VP, Corporate Development on active M&A transactions during the engagement, including origination, research and pipeline management, strategic deal thesis formation, cross-functional alignment, valuation, diligence, transaction execution, and post-merger integration.
• Support the identification and evaluation of M&A opportunities, partnerships, and strategic investments relevant to the broader Splice business.
• Lead early-stage opportunity assessment, including market analysis, strategic fit evaluation, deal memo development, and financial modeling.
• Partner with Finance and Legal teams to lead due diligence and integration planning when relevant.
• Support outreach and diligence conversations with acquisition targets and external advisors, under direction of the VP, Corporate Development.

Corporate Strategy & Market Insight

• Monitor market developments, competitor activity, and industry trends that could impact broader Splice strategy.
• Deliver competitive intelligence and market insight, including research, development, and presentation of insights on the competitive landscape, industry challenges, and new business opportunities.
• Communicate market insights to inform leadership decision-making 
• Analyze prioritized areas of opportunity and deliver testable hypotheses and recommendations for new business development
• Conduct buy / build / partner analysis for new business opportunities to inform the right execution pathway for delivering on Splice’s strategic objectives.

CANDIDATE REQUIREMENTS

• 6+ years of experience in corporate development, investment banking, private equity, management consulting, or a related field, with direct M&A execution experience.
• Strong financial modeling, valuation, and analytical skills, with the ability to build and interpret complex financial models.
• A track record of leading or supporting due diligence, deal structuring, and post-merger integration workstreams.
• Excellent market research and competitive analysis skills, with the ability to translate data and market signals into clear, actionable insight.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills, with experience preparing materials and presenting to senior leadership and executive stakeholders.
• Comfort operating with ambiguity, managing multiple workstreams simultaneously, and driving projects forward with high autonomy.
• Bachelor's degree in Business, Finance, Economics, or a related field; MBA a plus.

NICE TO HAVES

• Experience in music, creator tools, subscription/SaaS, or the broader creative or entertainment industry. 
• Prior in-house corporate development experience at a high-growth technology or consumer company.
• Familiarity with product analytics and metrics to support diligence and performance evaluation.
• Experience using AI tools to accelerate research, modeling, or workflow execution.

The national pay range for this role is $13,000 - $15,000/Monthly. Individual compensation will be commensurate with the candidate's experience.
