As a Rate Structure Analyst, you will manage complex pricing cases, escalations, and strategic retention efforts for high-value merchant accounts. Building on foundational pricing expertise, you will perform in-depth financial analyses, develop tailored pricing strategies, and drive account retention and ARR growth. You will collaborate cross-functionally, act as a subject matter expert on compliant pricing structures, and support VIP/Strategic Accounts, often serving as the final escalation point for pricing concerns.
This is a hybrid position 3x/week in our Royal Oak, MI office.
Essential Functions:
- Analyze and resolve complex rate change cases and escalations to ensure client retention and satisfaction.
- Perform break-even, ARR, and GPV analyses to inform competitive, compliant pricing strategies.
- Guide Account Executives and Client Success Managers on pricing approaches for high-risk or high-value accounts.
- Communicate pricing decisions and rationale clearly to internal teams and clients.
- Identify accounts at risk due to pricing or competitive pressures and implement mitigation strategies.
- Serve as an expert on Dual Pricing, Surcharge models, and other compliant pricing structures.
- Collaborate with Finance, Underwriting, and Compliance to align rate changes with business objectives and risk mitigation.
- Contribute to refining pricing protocols, guardrails, and guidelines based on trends and data insights.
- Lead or participate in pricing-related projects and initiatives.
- Maintain accurate records of pricing decisions, case outcomes, and client communications.
- Manage a high-volume pricing caseload with a focus on strategic impact and timely resolution.
- Deliver high-quality, accurate work and outcomes by consistently adhering to documented processes, including Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs), Service Level Agreements (SLAs), and checklists.
- Review and verify outcomes before submission to maintain consistency and high-quality standards.
- Identify and address process gaps or errors to drive continuous improvement and operational excellence.

- Deep expertise in merchant processing, pricing structures, and profitability metrics.
- Strong knowledge of Dual Pricing, Surcharge, and compliance regulations.
- Skilled in analyzing merchant statements and competitor pricing to optimize rates.
- Proficient in Salesforce, Excel, and internal margin calculators.
- Strong business acumen and analytical skills for data-driven decision-making.
- Excellent negotiation, written, and verbal communication skills.
- Highly organized, deadline-driven, and capable of managing a high volume of cases independently.
- Familiarity with POS systems and restaurant operations preferred.
- Strong interpersonal skills and emotional intelligence for sensitive client and internal interactions.
- Proven depth of experience in rate analysis, pricing strategy, or account retention within merchant services, payments, SaaS, or fintech environments.
- Demonstrated success managing pricing escalations and high-stakes client negotiations.
- Experience with VIP or Strategic Accounts, ideally in B2B or restaurant technology contexts.
- Expertise in reviewing merchant processing statements and profitability metrics.
- Proficiency using Salesforce or similar CRMs, with advanced Excel and analytical tool capabilities.

Compensation:
- The hourly pay for this role ranges from $22.00 - $25.00 per hour. Offers will be reflective of the candidates location and experience.
