The Senior Program Manager, Payer Operations, will lead both the implementation of new initiatives and the ongoing management, strategy, and optimization of existing processes and programs. This role will not only oversee complex, cross-functional projects, but will also drive the strategic build-out and evolution of the payer operations function, ensuring alignment and seamless execution to support the success and scalability of Spring Health’s payer business. In addition, the Senior Program Manager will be an external-facing leader, managing high-impact relationships with payer partners, communicating operational performance, addressing concerns, and ensuring alignment with partner expectations. Strong relationship management and communication skills are essential to fostering collaboration and supporting the long-term success of our payer partnerships. Reporting to the Director of Payer Revenue Programs, this role is key to advancing our payer strategy and operational excellence.
What you’ll be doing:
- Define and drive the long-term strategy for the payer operations function, creating a clear roadmap that aligns with Spring Health’s growth objectives and payer partnership goals.
- Lead as well as build a team to support cross-functional coordination and program management to ensure seamless execution of complex operational initiatives, driving alignment and meeting both internal and payer partner deadlines.
- Monitor the end-to-end health of payer programs, reporting performance metrics and identifying opportunities for improvement to ensure long-term success and scalability.
- Design and implement measurable, scalable processes that support efficient operations and future expansion as the payer business grows.
- Manage payer relationships by representing operational performance, addressing partner concerns, and ensuring alignment with strategic objectives.
- Act as a strategic thought partner, collaborating closely with Strategy, Product Marketing, Sales, and Customer Success to ensure new and existing payer programs are effectively positioned and supported in the market.
- Partner with Product to inform the design and implementation of technology solutions that enhance operational efficiency and support payer program success.
What success looks like in this role:
- Strong cross-functional collaboration with on-time deliverables and minimal escalations.
- X% improvement in operational efficiency and Y% growth in program capacity.
- Smooth claims reimbursement, with X% improvement in claims accuracy, net collections, and reduced patient payment delays.
What we expect from you:
- 7+ years of cross-functional experience in high-growth startups and/or healthcare systems, with deep expertise in operations, healthcare, and strategy.
- Strong working knowledge of healthcare operations, claims processes, and payer-provider relationships.
- Strong project management skills with a track record of delivering complex, cross-functional initiatives on time.
- Excellent written, verbal, and listening communication skills.
- Strong analytical and strategic thinking with attention to detail.
- Collaborative leader who thrives in a culture of accountability, teamwork, and entrepreneurship.
The target base salary range for this position is $110,000 - $142,500, and is part of a competitive total rewards package including stock options and benefits. Individual pay may vary from the target range and is determined by a number of factors including experience, location, internal pay equity, and other relevant business considerations. We review all employee pay and compensation programs annually using Radford Global Compensation Database at minimum to ensure competitive and fair pay.
