Candidate Interview Guide

Alma’s Data teams are on a transformative journey, evolving our culture and infrastructure to be AI-first and deeply data-driven. As the Senior Analyst I for Marketing, you will move beyond execution to serve as the principal data authority and strategic partner to our Growth, Performance Marketing, and Lifecycle teams. Moreover, you will be instrumental in supporting Alma’s mission to make it easy to find high-quality, affordable mental health care.

You will own the strategic roadmap, data architecture, and analytical execution for the Marketing domain. You speak Marketing fluently (CAC, LTV, multi-touch attribution, ROAS, and conversion funnels) and possess the leadership capability to translate executive business goals into robust, scalable data assets. You will act as a critical bridge between Marketing leadership, Data Engineering, and Data Science to unlock high-velocity, automated insights.

Outcomes: How We’ll Define Success in the First 12 Months

This is a high-impact individual contributor role defined by architectural ownership, strategic autonomy, and cross-functional leadership:

  • End-to-End Domain Ownership: Take full ownership of the Marketing data reporting layer, mapping out and executing a multi-quarter technical roadmap that aligns cleanly with Alma's growth OKRs.
  • Architectural Scalability: Design and optimize our core Marketing data models within dbt, moving the organization away from siloed reporting toward an integrated, full-funnel "source of truth".
  • Strategic Enablement: Empower Marketing stakeholders with automated, high-fidelity pacing models and diagnostic tools that reduce manual workflows and accelerate media-spend optimization.
  • Cross-Functional Bridge: Act as the primary technical liaison between Growth Marketing and Data Engineering, defining the requirements for downstream identity resolution and MarTech API integrations.

Other Responsibilities: What Else You Will Do

  • Advanced Data Modeling & Architecture: Design, build, and maintain enterprise-grade data models in dbt and interactive dashboards in our BI tools (Lightdash). You will ensure the underlying data structures supporting marketing attribution and acquisition metrics are clean, scalable, and optimized for performance.
  • Technical Mentorship & Coaching: Act as a technical mentor to peer analysts across the data org. You will lead code reviews, establish dbt modeling standards, and help upskill the broader team in SQL mastery and data governance.
  • Advanced Growth Analytics: Drive complex, deep-dive analyses on multi-touch attribution (MTA), marketing mix modeling (MMM), client lifetime value (LTV), and incrementality testing to help optimize multi-million dollar marketing budgets.
  • Process & Workflow Evolution: Champion the adoption of modern analytics engineering practices. Identify workflow bottlenecks and proactively introduce AI-accelerated frameworks to increase the velocity and consistency of the team's insights.

Who You Are (Requirements)

  • Experience: You have 4–7 years of experience in strategic data analytics, business intelligence, or analytics engineering, with a proven track record of supporting high-growth Growth or Performance Marketing teams.
  • Technical Mastery: You possess expert-level SQL proficiency alongside advanced, hands-on experience structuring core warehouse schemas using dbt. You know your way around several BI tools (like Looker, Metabase, Tableau, or Lightdash).
  • Domain Expertise: You have deep expertise in the nuances of digital marketing data ecosystems (e.g., ad platforms, event tracking, lifecycle platforms) and understand how to stitch anonymous top-of-funnel cookies to known downstream user IDs.
  • Strategic Leadership & Communication: You excel at breaking down highly complex technical or analytical concepts into structured frameworks and actionable insights for executive and non-technical stakeholders.
  • AI-First Mindset: You actively leverage and deploy AI-powered tools within your day-to-day workflow to maximize technical velocity and automate redundant tasks.

Autonomy & Collaboration: You are a natural self-starter who thrives when handed highly ambiguous business challenges. You bring people together across functions to engineer robust data solutions.

Form CC-305
OMB Control Number 1250-0005
Expires 04/30/2026

Why are you being asked to complete this form?

We are a federal contractor or subcontractor. The law requires us to provide equal employment opportunity to qualified people with disabilities. We have a goal of having at least 7% of our workers as people with disabilities. The law says we must measure our progress towards this goal. To do this, we must ask applicants and employees if they have a disability or have ever had one. People can become disabled, so we need to ask this question at least every five years.

Completing this form is voluntary, and we hope that you will choose to do so. Your answer is confidential. No one who makes hiring decisions will see it. Your decision to complete the form and your answer will not harm you in any way. If you want to learn more about the law or this form, visit the U.S. Department of Labor’s Office of Federal Contract Compliance Programs (OFCCP) website at www.dol.gov/ofccp.
