Job Overview:
SPS is seeking warm, out-going, team-oriented individuals to contribute to the hospitality culture of The Rink at Rockefeller Center. As a valuable member of the team, you are the face of the famous skating rink and will be responsible for creating uniquely unforgettable experiences for our guests. Our team members are empowered to create singular moments by displaying a strong attention to detail and anticipating our guests’ needs. Applicants should demonstrate an ability to quickly learn and communicate information pertaining to The Rink as well as other aspects of Rockefeller Center.
Schedules are flexible, and include daytime, evening, weekend, and holiday hours. Availability on weekends and holidays is required. Fluent English is required and the ability to speak multiple languages is a plus. Applicants must be able to walk, stand, bend, twist, and lift throughout an entire shift. Due to the nature of this role and its responsibilities, the employee must report to the on-site work location during scheduled work hours. Summary of Position:
Hospitality Hosts are responsible for delivering outstanding customer service to all guests at every touch point during their visit to The Rink. This includes a warm welcome upon entry, kind and concise communication throughout the attraction and fully upholding all safety standards. Hospitality Hosts occupy many positions around The Rink to ensure a smooth operation. Some of these tasks include managing access control, performing skate rental duties, directing traffic of large groups, monitoring the locker room, answering questions, and anticipating guest needs.
Responsibilities:
- Inform and enforce all health & safety guidelines
- Handle all rental skate duties (skate exchange, guest education, cleaning/sanitizing)
- Check tickets prior to entry and communicate appropriate information
- Scan guest’s ticket with QR Code scanner, issue appropriate credentials required for rink entry and communicate any additional information required for skating session
- Direct traffic to follow natural flow of The Rink
- Instruct guests to follow proper locker usage and etiquette
- Anticipate guest needs and build rapport with all visitors
- Do the very best to answer or find the answer to all questions guests may have pertaining to The Rink, Rockefeller Center or any item that falls under the scope of offering exceptional hospitality
- General maintenance during snow events
Requirements:
- Ability to understand and communicate in English, verbally and in writing
- Strong communication and time management skills
- Ability to work in high-volume situations and direct large groups of people
- Role will require sitting, standing, walking, bending, kneeling, reaching, lifting, stooping, pushing, pulling and carrying
- A significant portion of the day requires standing and walking
- A portion of your shift may take place outside (Insulated winter jacket & vest provided)
- Ideally open availability including weekends, early mornings, late nights, and holidays
- Must be able to lift 15 lbs. on a regular and continuing basis
- Must be able to follow uniform and other grooming guidelines
- Must be able to follow all other policies implemented by SPS/The Rink
Physical Demands:
- Fine and/or gross motor skills, including the ability to grasp, lift and/or carry or otherwise move packages on a standard wheeled cart with a load capacity of 60 lbs.
- Ability to walk, bend, kneel, stand, and/or sit for an extended period of time.
- Manual dexterity required for operating office machinery (phone, copy machines, binding equipment, etc.).
- Physically able to talk on the phone and input data simultaneously.
- Ability to lift or move 40 lbs. or greater frequently.
- Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, ability to adjust focus and ability to match or may include detection of differences between colors, including shades of color and brightness.
Travel: Some local travel is required for this position. Approximately up to 25%.

Pay Range
$18 - $22 USD
