Retail Sales Team Lead

Job Summary

The Retail Sales Team Lead is responsible for overseeing daily gift shop operations while delivering excellent customer service and achieving sales targets. This role assists guests with merchandise selection and purchases, maintains store presentation and inventory, and supports the team in meeting sales and operational goals. The Team Lead also ensures compliance with company policies and procedures while maintaining a clean, organized, and welcoming retail environment.

Key Responsibilities

  • Customer Service and Sales
    • Assist guests throughout the sales transaction, including merchandise selection, payment processing, and completion of closing paperwork.
    • Meet or exceed individual and store sales targets and key performance indicators (KPIs).
    • Monitor sales performance and proactively use available resources to achieve sales goals.
    • Maintain a friendly, approachable, and professional demeanor when interacting with guests and colleagues.
  • Store Operations and Merchandising
    • Maintain store signage, promotional materials, and merchandise displays according to established plans.
    • Rotate displays regularly to reflect seasonal changes, promotions, and merchandising priorities.
    • Ensure merchandise is properly stocked, faced, folded, sized, and labeled.
    • Keep the store clean, organized, and visually appealing.
    • Recommend merchandise reorders and report inventory levels to management.
  • Inventory and Loss Prevention
    • Assist with inventory control, stock replenishment, and loss prevention activities.
    • Monitor merchandise availability and identify inventory discrepancies or replenishment needs.
    • Support inventory accuracy and follow established inventory management procedures.
  • Team Leadership and Operational Support
    • Support daily store operations and assist management in achieving sales and operational objectives.
    • Operate point-of-sale (POS) systems and troubleshoot basic system issues.
    • Follow company policies and procedures and report violations or operational concerns to management.
    • Assist with special projects and additional duties as assigned by management.
    • Demonstrate initiative, accountability, and the ability to work independently and collaboratively.

Qualifications and Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent required.
  • 1–2 years of relevant retail, sales, or customer service experience preferred.
  • Previous experience in merchandising or retail operations is an advantage.
  • Strong organizational and time management skills.
  • Excellent verbal communication, customer service, and teamwork abilities.
  • Basic computer skills and the ability to learn and operate POS systems and other computer-based applications.
  • Ability to work independently, take initiative, and manage daily responsibilities effectively.
  • Strong attention to detail and a proactive approach to maintaining store standards.
  • Professional appearance and attitude.
  • Ability to work assigned schedules and adhere to all company policies and procedures.

Physical Demands

  • Ability to grasp, lift, carry, and move packages using a standard wheeled cart with a load capacity of up to 60 lbs.
  • Ability to walk, bend, kneel, stand, and sit for extended periods.
  • Visual abilities necessary for the role, including close and distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus.
  • Ability to operate a cash register, computer monitor, keyboard, and other store equipment.

 

Compensation: 
The expected compensation is an estimate, and the final offer will depend on skills, experience, location, and other job-related factors.

$21 - $24 USD
