Technical Marketing Engineer

Austin, Texas | Remote

SpyCloud is on a mission to make the internet a safer place by disrupting the criminal underground. SpyCloud’s solutions thwart cyberattacks and protect more than 4 billion accounts worldwide. Cybersecurity is an exciting, evolving space, and being at the forefront of the fight to disrupt cybercrime makes SpyCloud a special place to work. If you’re driven to align your career with a fantastic mission, look no further!

Our Product Marketing team is growing and we’re looking for a Technical Marketing Engineer (TME) to bring our data and API-first products to life through compelling, technically credible content and experiences. In this role, you’ll be the go-to expert for shaping how we bring the technical side of our story to life – whether it's through clear and actionable documentation, data-driven demo experiences, or sharp competitive insights.

This is an ideal role for someone who enjoys diving into technical details, making the complex simple, and building resources that truly empower customers, sellers, and partners. You'll play a hands-on role in helping prospects see what’s possible with SpyCloud – and helping customers unlock more value from what they already have.

You’ll collaborate across Product Marketing, Product Management, Customer Success, Growth Marketing, Sales Engineering, Enablement, and more – partnering with teams who are as invested in the customer journey as you are. If you have a technical mindset, love connecting the dots, and want to make an immediate impact, we’d love to meet you.

What You'll Do:

TECHNICAL CONTENT & CUSTOMER EDUCATION

    • Own and manage SpyCloud’s customer-facing knowledge base as a strategic platform for customers and internal teams.
    • Write, develop and maintain technical content such as product documentation, how-to guides, best practices, use case narratives, and integration instructions.
    • Translate complex product functionality into accessible, actionable content for both technical and semi-technical audiences.
    • Collaborate with Product Management, Sales Engineering, Data and Engineering, Technical Account Managers, and Customer Success to ensure accuracy and relevance of documentation.
    • Regularly update content to reflect product updates, new releases, and customer feedback.

DEMO EXPERIENCE

    • Design and maintain compelling, use case-focused demos that reflect common and emerging customer use cases.
    • Collaborate with Product, Sales Engineers, and PMMs to develop data-rich demo narratives showcasing the unique capabilities of SpyCloud’s products.
    • Build scalable, modular demo scripts that enable sellers to personalize conversations across buyer personas and verticals.
    • Leverage APIs and data to build realistic customer scenarios, enabling self-service demo environments or on-demand videos for scalable use.

COMPETITIVE & MARKET INTELLIGENCE

    • Evolve SpyCloud’s competitive intelligence efforts – auditing current tooling, identifying gaps, and proposing new methodologies and tools as our competitive landscape evolves.
    • Lead a regular cadence of competitive updates, battlecards, and win/loss summaries for GTM teams.
    • Partner with Sales, Enablement, and Product to craft differentiated positioning and support objection handling.
    • Monitor and synthesize competitor messaging, product launches, customer wins/losses, and industry shifts.

TECHNICAL POSITIONING & ENABLEMENT

    • Support sales and partners with technical enablement materials to accommodate new and existing use cases and integrate into ROI models.
    • Partner with SEs and Enablement to upskill reps on technical differentiators, integration ease, and evolving data types.
    • Participate in and shape webinars, virtual events, and technical workshops – bringing your voice into external conversations as a subject matter expert.
    • Join customer and field events (<10% travel) to better understand real-world challenges and champion feedback internally.

Requirements:

  • 3–5+ years of experience in a technical marketing, technical writing, solution engineering, developer advocacy, or product-focused role.
    • Product Marketing experience is a plus, but not required, we welcome candidates with prior product, sales engineering, technical customer support experience or similar, to apply – our focus is finding someone who is excited to drive the product experience for our customers and prospects through diverse content formats.
  • Proven ability to create technical documentation and demo experiences; bonus for experience with customer knowledge bases or documentation platforms (e.g., Readme, Confluence, Zendesk, etc.).
  • Hands-on experience with APIs and data analysis to develop or support demo environments.
  • Familiarity with cybersecurity products, identity threat intelligence, or data-driven SaaS solutions is strongly preferred.
  • Comfortable synthesizing technical information into compelling narratives for both internal and external audiences.
  • Strong communication skills, attention to detail, and project management abilities.

Nice to Have

  • Experience with competitive intelligence platforms (e.g., Crayon, Klue).
  • Experience with demo solutions (e.g., Walnut, Reprise, Coast)
  • Experience with support and documentation tools (e.g, ZenDesk, ReadMe)
  • Prior exposure to customer journey mapping or customer experience-focused content.
  • Background in or adjacent to product marketing, with an interest in growing into a PMM role long-term.

Race & Ethnicity Definitions

If you believe you belong to any of the categories of protected veterans listed below, please indicate by making the appropriate selection. As a government contractor subject to the Vietnam Era Veterans Readjustment Assistance Act (VEVRAA), we request this information in order to measure the effectiveness of the outreach and positive recruitment efforts we undertake pursuant to VEVRAA. Classification of protected categories is as follows:

A "disabled veteran" is one of the following: a veteran of the U.S. military, ground, naval or air service who is entitled to compensation (or who but for the receipt of military retired pay would be entitled to compensation) under laws administered by the Secretary of Veterans Affairs; or a person who was discharged or released from active duty because of a service-connected disability.

Form CC-305
OMB Control Number 1250-0005
Expires 04/30/2026

Why are you being asked to complete this form?

We are a federal contractor or subcontractor. The law requires us to provide equal employment opportunity to qualified people with disabilities. We have a goal of having at least 7% of our workers as people with disabilities. The law says we must measure our progress towards this goal. To do this, we must ask applicants and employees if they have a disability or have ever had one. People can become disabled, so we need to ask this question at least every five years.

Completing this form is voluntary, and we hope that you will choose to do so. Your answer is confidential. No one who makes hiring decisions will see it. Your decision to complete the form and your answer will not harm you in any way. If you want to learn more about the law or this form, visit the U.S. Department of Labor’s Office of Federal Contract Compliance Programs (OFCCP) website at www.dol.gov/ofccp.
