AM: BA/Project/Product Manager

New York, New York, United States, New York, NY, United States

Stone Ridge is a $39B diversified financial services firm that creates innovative capital markets solutions through a group of industry-leading operating companies. Founded in 2012 and based in New York, we build businesses and investment strategies in markets where deep expertise, proprietary data, and disciplined execution can create lasting advantages.

We build products we want for ourselves and invest in all our strategies alongside our partners. Everything we do—from how we approach problems to how we work with one another—is grounded in our core values: Focus. Be Humble. Be Kind.

Why Stone Ridge?

Stone Ridge is intentionally flat, meritocratic, and demanding. Ideas matter more than titles, and people are trusted with meaningful responsibility. The bargain is simple: you get to work here, and in return, you commit to keep learning, keep improving, and striving to be the best in the industry at what you do.

Stone Ridge Asset Management develops differentiated alternative investment strategies designed to provide valuable sources of return and diversification beyond traditional stocks and bonds.

The Opportunity

Stone Ridge is seeking a BA Project/Product Manager to lead the discovery and delivery of internal technology products that improve how the firm operates. The person will be primarily responsible for eliciting business requirements from stakeholders across the firm, translating those needs into functional and technical specifications for engineering, and managing delivery from intake through completion. The role sits within the Product Management team inside the Technology organization and partners closely with business and operations teams spanning trading, portfolio management, operations, data, and infrastructure.

This is a distinctive opportunity to help establish a modern, SVPG-aligned product model at a growing alternative asset manager, working directly with engineering and design on problems that span the full breadth of the firm’s businesses. The role is well suited to someone who thrives in ambiguous environments, enjoys facilitating alignment across diverse stakeholders, and wants to build durable internal capability from the ground up.

What You’ll Do

  • Lead end-to-end product discovery and delivery — from stakeholder interviews and requirements definition through scoping, planning, execution, and delivery
  • Define product roadmaps, priorities, and dependencies across initiatives
  • Elicit and document detailed business requirements, translating complex business needs into functional and technical specifications for engineering
  • Manage stakeholder communication across business, operations, and technology teams, and facilitate workshops to align on requirements and progress
  • Track and report progress to technology, business, and operations teams; proactively identify risks and dependencies and formulate mitigation strategies
  • Build and maintain the technology team’s backlog and sprint plans in Jira, ensuring work is tracked against a prioritized roadmap
  • Maintain documentation standards in Jira, Confluence, and SharePoint as the team’s sources of truth

What You Bring

Required

  • 5–10 years of experience in product management, business analysis, or project management within asset management, investment management, or financial services
  • Hands-on experience translating business requirements into functional and technical specifications for software engineering teams
  • Practical expertise with Jira, Confluence, and Microsoft 365/SharePoint, with comfort coordinating multiple interdependent workstreams
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to simplify complex topics for varied audiences
  • Proven ability to produce concise, executive-ready materials and communicate clearly across technical and non-technical stakeholders
  • Ability to manage competing priorities in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment
  • Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field such as finance, business, economics, or technology

Preferred

  • Advanced degree (MBA, Master’s, or related field)
  • Demonstrated ability to drive accountability and alignment across diverse, cross-functional stakeholder groups

What Success Looks Like

  • Independently owns end-to-end delivery for at least one major initiative, from discovery through launch, with minimal oversight
  • Earns the trust of engineering, design, and business stakeholders as the primary point of contact for scope, priority, and status
  • Establishes reliable roadmap, backlog, and sprint-planning practices in Jira that the technology team relies on as its source of truth
  • Produces requirements and specifications clear enough to measurably reduce rework and back-and-forth between business and engineering teams
