AM: Product Specialist

New York, New York, United States, New York, NY, United States

Stone Ridge is a $39B diversified financial services firm that creates innovative capital markets solutions through a group of industry-leading operating companies. Founded in 2012 and based in New York, we build businesses and investment strategies in markets where deep expertise, proprietary data, and disciplined execution can create lasting advantages.

We build products we want for ourselves and invest in all our strategies alongside our partners. Everything we do—from how we approach problems to how we work with one another—is grounded in our core values: Focus. Be Humble. Be Kind.

Why Stone Ridge?

Stone Ridge is intentionally flat, meritocratic, and demanding. Ideas matter more than titles, and people are trusted with meaningful responsibility. The bargain is simple: you get to work here, and in return, you commit to keep learning, keep improving, and striving to be the best in the industry at what you do.

Stone Ridge Asset Management develops differentiated alternative investment strategies designed to provide valuable sources of return and diversification beyond traditional stocks and bonds.

The Opportunity

Stone Ridge is seeking a Product Specialist to develop a deep understanding of our alternative investment strategies and translate that understanding into clear, compelling communication for clients and prospective investors. The Product Specialist will create narratives, presentations, reports, and analysis; engage directly with clients; and work across investment, sales, marketing, legal and compliance, operations, accounting, and senior leadership.

This role is a generalist position with the opportunity to contribute across Stone Ridge’s full suite of strategies, including reinsurance, alternative lending, energy, and single-family rentals, as well as broader strategic initiatives. It is well suited to someone who is intellectually curious, enjoys learning complex material, and wants their work to have a direct impact on how investors understand and evaluate the firm’s strategies.

What You’ll Do

  • Develop deep subject-matter expertise in the first principles, structure, execution, return drivers, and risks of Stone Ridge’s investment strategies
  • Translate complex investment concepts into clear narratives, visual presentations, reports, and educational materials for audiences ranging from institutional investors to financial advisors and end investors
  • Create and maintain high-quality product materials, including pitchbooks, fund commentaries, investment memos, portfolio updates, and responses to bespoke client questions
  • Partner with investment teams to identify, test, and refine the most important insights from portfolio activity, research, and market developments
  • Conduct original quantitative and qualitative analysis to support client communication, product positioning, and strategic initiatives
  • Present directly to clients and prospective investors in settings ranging from one-on-one meetings to larger educational events
  • Coordinate across investment, sales, marketing, legal and compliance, operations, accounting, and senior leadership to take materials from initial concept through final delivery
  • Apply rigorous editorial and visual judgment to ensure every output is accurate, coherent, audience-appropriate, and publication-ready

What You Bring

Required

  • Five or more years of relevant professional experience in investment management, financial services, consulting, research, or another analytically rigorous environment
  • A strong grasp of financial markets and the ability to develop fluency in unfamiliar investment strategies
  • Demonstrated ability to distill complex topics clearly and logically in written, verbal, and visual form
  • Strong analytical capability, including the ability to conduct independent research and interpret financial or investment data
  • Excellent presentation judgment, including the ability to transform raw technical content into a clear and compelling story
  • Exceptional attention to detail and a record of producing accurate, publication-ready work
  • Sound judgment and the ability to collaborate effectively across functions and levels of seniority

Preferred

  • Experience in alternative investments, asset management, investment banking, or institutional investment communication
  • Direct experience creating client-facing investment materials or presenting investment ideas
  • Advanced PowerPoint and Excel capabilities

What Success Looks Like

  • Develops sufficient command of Stone Ridge’s strategies to explain their mechanics, investment rationale, risks, and portfolio role clearly to sophisticated investors
  • Earns the trust of investment teams and senior leaders to represent technically complex ideas accurately and exercise sound judgment about framing
  • Independently produces materials that are analytically rigorous, clearly structured, visually effective, and close to publication-ready
  • Adapts content effectively across institutional, advisor, and end-investor audiences without diluting the underlying substance
  • Becomes a reliable connector across investment and commercial teams, improving both the quality and efficiency of client communication
