The Shift Manager, Production is responsible for overseeing the operations of the production floor, ensuring all manufacturing deadlines and key performance metrics are met. This role will lead, manage, and hold the production team accountable to achieve business goals, optimize performance, and maintain a safe and positive working environment.
The ideal candidate must be comfortable working rotating shifts, including day and night.
Responsibilities:
- Operations Management:

- Execute work orders weekly (and eventually daily) to deliver the correct parts in the correct quantities and at the highest quality standards.
- Drive key metrics including reducing labor rate, waste rate, and overhead while increasing production volume.
- Monitor production to ensure output meets quality standards and resolve operational issues promptly.
- Present analytical reports on efficiencies, labor, waste, production volumes, and other KPIs.
- Lead process excellence and Lean manufacturing initiatives to foster a culture of continuous improvement.

People Management:
- Lead, manage, and hold the production team accountable to performance and targets.
- Foster a positive employee relations environment by ensuring respect and professional growth opportunities.
- Provide leadership in workforce planning, talent management, and employee development.
- Promote diversity and inclusion within the team and address employee satisfaction concerns proactively.
- Assess team performance and promote individual development through coaching, counseling, and leadership.
Health & Safety:
- Enforce health and safety precautions across the production floor.
- Ensure compliance with all regulatory and organizational safety standards.
Qualifications:
- Proven experience in a supervisory or managerial role +3 years in a production or manufacturing environment.
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Operations Management, or a related field is preferred.
- Strong communication skills and the ability to work effectively with cross-functional teams.
- Comfortable working 4x4 rotating work shift patterns (e.g. essentially 4 working days & 4 days off, 12 hours working shifts, rotating weekly from day to night shifts).
- Exceptional organizational and time-management skills.
- Proficient with software applications and computer technology.
