About the Role:

We’re seeking a People Operations Coordinator to support and enhance the employee experience at every stage of the journey. This role is an essential part of our People & Culture team, ensuring operational excellence, fostering engagement, and helping us build a thriving, people-centered company. Core Responsibilities Include:

  • Support Employee Onboarding and Offboarding: 
    • Coordinating pre-hire activities, including background checks, HRIS setup, onboarding task assignments, and credentials provisioning (e.g., Slack and Gmail).
    • Leading Day 1 onboarding sessions, introducing systems (BambooHR, Insperity, Slack), and ensuring a smooth welcome experience.
    • Supporting the planning and execution of our new hire cohort sessions, including logistics, scheduling, orientation meetings, and on-site coordination.
    • Facilitate offboarding by completing system tasks and ensuring compliance with offboarding procedures.
  • Serve as Employee Support and Information Hub
    • Acting as a primary point of contact for employee inquiries related to benefits, payroll, and policies, escalating complex issues as needed.
    • Approving and correcting PTO requests in BambooHR in accordance with company policy.
    • Supporting the creation of communication updates on benefits, procedures, and company-wide initiatives with clarity and professionalism.
  • Drive Operational Excellence and Compliance:
    • Assisting in the management of employment compliance, including setting up new state tax accounts, monitoring legal updates, and updating policies accordingly.
    • Coordinating annual compliance requirements, such as anti-harassment training, 401(k) audit prep, and future EEO-1 reporting.
    • Supporting our employees through the leave of absence process, ensuring compliance with FMLA and state-specific requirements.
    • Coordinating with payroll to manage pay while employees are on leave, tracking return-to-work timelines, and maintaining accurate records.
    • Maintaining HR systems (e.g., BambooHR) with accurate and up-to-date employee data.
    • Partnering with the Senior People Operations Manager on special projects and continuous process improvements.

 

Intimate, Working Familiarity With:

  • Proficiency with Google Suite. 

General Requirements:

  • 1-3 years of experience in HR, People Operations, or a similar administrative role.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or related experience.
  • Exceptional attention to detail and organizational skills.
  • Clear and professional verbal and written communication with strong interpersonal skills and a people-first mindset.
  • Proactive, positive attitude with the ability to troubleshoot, research, and escalate issues appropriately.
  • Adaptability and eagerness to learn new tools, systems, and policies.
  • Discretion and professionalism when handling sensitive information.
  • Experience supporting remote or hybrid teams is a plus.

Nice to Haves:

  • Basic knowledge of employment laws and regulations.
  • Experience with HRIS platforms.
  • Experience with legal compliance processes and HR best practices.

 

A Bit More Info:

Minimum Base Compensation: $50,000

This is a full-time position.

Stable Kernel operates a People Before Place Hybrid model, allowing most employees to choose where they can do their best work most days. Given the nature of this role, proximity to our Atlanta, GA headquarters is preferred.

Minimal travel is associated with this role.
