Engineering Team: As an Engineer at StackAdapt, you will be directly involved in the development of our advertising platform, producing production level code that will have a direct impact on the success of our product. You will work with large data sets and have exposure to modern tech stacks around GoLang and more. StackAdapt's engineering organization believes in working collaboratively and cross functionally. About the Backend Team:
The backend teams at StackAdapt are responsible for engineering data-intensive large distributed backend systems powering core features including bidding, analytics, inventory, integrations, and user profiling. Our real-time advertising bidding system handles over 3,000,000 requests per second and stores several terabytes of data every day. Our technologies include Go, Ruby on Rails, Aerospike, Redis, Elasticsearch, Kafka, RocksDB, Redshift, ScyllaDB, GraphQL and others. We're not afraid to test and try new technologies.

What you'll be doing:

  • Building highly scalable, distributed real-time micro-services primarily written in GoWorking with large data sets and various databases including Aerospike, Elasticsearch, Redis, ScyllaDB, Redshift, TiDB, MariaDB
  • Build software that utilizes messaging queues such as Kafka, SQS, and Kinesis
  • Write performance-efficient and memory-optimized code

What you'll bring to the table:

  • Contribute to technical planning and architectural decision-making
  • Collaborating with team members on designing complex, scalable, well-tested, and well documented Backend software
  • Ability to take responsibility and ownership of projects
  • Contribute to code reviews and cross-team collaboration with product managers and designers
  • Write extensible scalable and test-driven software, either in teams or individually depending on the scope of the project
  • Working with a designated mentor throughout the internship for technical and career growth direction is an asset
  • Having experience with SQL-based databases and writing complex queries for reporting purposes is an asset
  • Building highly scalable, distributed real-time micro-services primarily written in Go

The compensation range listed for this role reflects the expected hourly rate for candidates located in Ontario, Canada. It is informed by market data and the approved budget for this position. StackAdapt maintains different compensation ranges for roles across other countries and regions, and final offers will be aligned to the candidate’s current location.

This range represents hourly rate only. Depending on the role, candidates may also be eligible for additional compensation such as annual bonuses, commissions, equity awards, and a comprehensive benefits package.

Factors Influencing Final Compensation:

  • The final compensation offer will be determined by a variety of factors, which may include, but are not limited to: the candidate's specific experience, technical skills, knowledge, abilities, and relevant education, licensure, and certifications.
  • Other business factors, such as organizational needs and budget alignment, may also be considered in the final offer.

Ontario Hourly Band

$35 - $55 CAD
