Senior Software Engineer, Developer Experience

Engineering at StackAdapt: As an Engineer at StackAdapt, you will be directly involved in the development of our advertising platform, producing production level code that will have a direct impact on the success of our product. You will work with large data sets and have exposure to modern tech stacks around Ruby on Rails, React, GraphQL, GoLang and more. About the Developer Experience team: The Developer Experience (DevX) Team at StackAdapt creates the tools, practices, and processes that establish a frictionless and efficient environment for engineers. This emphasis on reducing friction and pain points throughout the development life cycle is key to accelerating development cycles, improving software quality, and ultimately boosting both productivity and developer satisfaction. Some of what the DevX Team works on includes build workflows, development environment tooling, and team collaboration tools.
What You'll Be Doing:
- Be proactive in identifying and solving problems that impact engineering productivity and the developer experience across the organization.
- Drive continuous improvement by implementing, gathering, and analyzing key developer metrics to inform ongoing development.
- Be on the lookout to keep the tech stack up to date with current standards.
- Collaborate with team members on designing scalable, well-tested, and well-documented technical architecture.
- Take responsibility and ownership of projects from start to finish.
- Actively participate in code reviews and technical design reviews.
- Provide mentorship to junior engineers.
What You'll Bring to the Table
- Have at least 5+ years of experience working on developer experience-related projects and building software and systems at scale.
- Passion for Developer Experience, evidenced by a track record of enhancing engineering productivity and satisfaction.
- Strong understanding of system design and problem-solving skills in data structures, algorithms, and code optimization.
- Experience building and maintaining CI/CD pipelines.
- Experience with observability, implementing alerting and monitoring systems to monitor system health and identify areas for improvement.
- Clear communication skills with both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
