
Software Development Engineer I – Web Crawling & Automation
About the Role
We’re looking for a Software Development Engineer I to help build next-generation web crawling and data automation systems. You’ll work with modern tools like Puppeteer, Playwright, and LLMs to extract and process data at scale. This is a hands-on role where you’ll design, build, and optimize crawling pipelines, while learning from senior engineers and contributing to real production systems.
What You’ll Do
- Build and maintain scalable web crawling and automation tools using Node.js, Python, or similar.
- Use LLMs and browser automation (Puppeteer/Playwright) to adapt to complex, dynamic sites.
- Develop reliable data pipelines to handle high-volume collection and processing.
- Collaborate on CI/CD, monitoring, and automation for high availability systems.
- Troubleshoot issues and optimize performance for crawling and data workflows.
What We’re Looking For
- Experience coding in Typescript, Java, Python, or Go.
- Knowledge of web scraping frameworks, browser automation, and REST APIs.
- Familiarity with AWS services and databases (SQL & NoSQL).
- Strong problem-solving skills and a growth mindset.
Nice to Have:
- Exposure to LLMs/ML models for data extraction.
- Experience with big data or distributed systems.
- Previous work in e-commerce, retail, or digital data environments.

For this role, the pay range in Seattle is $135,000 – $165,000 per year, with additional opportunities for bonuses, incentives, and team-based awards.
