 As a Tier 3 IT Engineer within our Tech Consulting team, you will provide top-tier support and strategic guidance on complex issues involving systems infrastructure, cloud services, and end-user environments. 

This role requires in-depth troubleshooting capabilities, infrastructure expertise, and the ability to work closely with cross-functional teams and stakeholders. You'll act as an escalation point for Tier 1 and Tier 2 support while also contributing to long-term infrastructure planning and automation.  

This is a remote position that can work from anywhere within the United States. We are committed to finding the right person for this role.  What you’ll do at SN: 

  • Act as final escalation point for complex support issues (server, network, cloud, and endpoint) 
  • Proactively monitor and maintain infrastructure performance (on-prem and cloud-based) 
  • Provide subject-matter expertise in Active Directory, Microsoft 365, Azure, and Windows Server 
  • Manage and troubleshoot virtualization platforms (VMware, Hyper-V) 
  • Implement and maintain backup, disaster recovery, and high availability strategies 
  • Support complex line-of-business applications typical to the AEC industry (e.g., AutoCAD, Revit, Civil 3D, Navisworks, Bluebeam)  
  • Develop and maintain documentation for systems, procedures, and policies  
  • Collaborate with project managers, engineers, and technical leads on system design and rollout 
  • Provide mentorship and guidance to Tier 1 and Tier 2 technicians 
  • Participate in after-hours maintenance and on-call rotation as needed 

What you may have done before 

  • Experience supporting Architecture, Engineering, and Construction (AEC) firms or related design/technical software environments  
  • Experience in a consulting position

What it takes to be a Tier 3 IT Engineer: 

  • 5+ years in a senior or Tier 3 technical support role 
  • Strong working knowledge of Microsoft stack (Active Directory, Group Policy, Exchange Online, Intune) 
  • Experience with Azure AD, hybrid identity, and cloud migration strategies 
  • Familiarity with AEC design environments and workflows, including file sharing, rendering, and version control solutions 
  • Deep understanding of networking concepts (LAN/WAN, DNS, DHCP, VLANs,firewalls) 
  • Firewall brands - Meraki, Sophos, SonicWall , Fortigate  
  • PowerShell scripting and automation experience 
  • Strong working knowledge of secure protocols and encryption 
  • Experience with NIST 800-171, CIS, ISO 27001 or similar frameworks  
  • Experience with backup/recovery solutions (Veeam, Datto, etc.) 
  • Certifications such as MCSA/MCSE, Azure Administrator, VMware VCP, or equivalent are a plus

Salary: The salary range for this position is an estimate of $90,000 - $95,000. A final compensation offer within this range will be based on factors including an individual’s skill sets, experience, knowledge, licensure and certifications, and geography.
