The Manager, Facilities is responsible for supporting safe, reliable, and well-coordinated facility operations across Standard Nuclear's Idaho campus. This role owns facilities support, preventive maintenance coordination, equipment and building maintenance planning, utility coordination, fleet maintenance, and response to unscheduled maintenance needs. 

This position ensures site equipment, facilities, vehicles, and support systems are maintained, documented, and ready to support ongoing operations. The Manager, Facilities will coordinate with internal teams, external vendors, site partners, and service providers to schedule maintenance, resolve issues, and keep facility work aligned with operational priorities. 

The ideal candidate is organized, hands-on, safety-focused, and comfortable working in a technical facility environment where maintenance planning, vendor coordination, documentation, and timely issue resolution matter. 

 

RESPONSIBILITIES 

Facilities & Maintenance Planning 

  • Manage facilities and maintenance activities across Standard Nuclear's Idaho campus 
  • Develop, schedule, and maintain preventive maintenance activities for equipment, building systems, vehicles, and support infrastructure 
  • Coordinate planned and unplanned maintenance work with operations, engineering, safety, and other site teams
  • Track maintenance status, open work items, equipment readiness, repair needs, and follow-up actions
  • Ensure maintenance work is planned, communicated, documented, and completed in a safe and timely manner 

Equipment, Utility & Site Support 

  • Support maintenance, troubleshooting, repair, and service coordination for site equipment and facility systems
  • Coordinate with BEA and other site partners on utility work, preventive maintenance, lockout/tagout activities, outages, service needs, and related facility requirements
  • Coordinate vendors, contractors, service providers, and internal stakeholders for facilities and maintenance work
  • Support planning for maintenance windows, utility interruptions, equipment downtime, contractor access, and site support activities
  • Identify recurring maintenance issues and recommend improvements to improve reliability, uptime, and maintainability

Fleet & Support Equipment 

  • Manage scheduling, maintenance, inspection, and service coordination for vehicles in the Standard Nuclear Idaho fleet
  • Track vehicle readiness, service history, registration needs, inspection requirements, and repair status
  • Coordinate vendor service, repairs, and replacement planning for vehicles and related support equipment
  • Ensure fleet and support equipment are maintained in a safe, reliable, and documented manner 

Documentation & System Updates 

  • Maintain accurate records for preventive maintenance, repairs, inspections, service history, open work items, and completed maintenance activities 
  • Develop and maintain maintenance schedules, checklists, work instructions, equipment records, and tracking tools 
  • Ensure required documentation is complete before maintenance activities are closed out
  • Communicate maintenance status, risks, schedule impacts, and resource needs to site leadership and affected teams
  • Help improve facilities and maintenance workflows, tracking systems, documentation practices, and work planning processes as site needs mature

Department Leadership & Cross-Functional Support 

  • Help build and manage the facilities function as Standard Nuclear's Idaho operations grow 
  • Establish priorities, assign work, and coordinate internal or external resources supporting facilities and maintenance needs
  • Set expectations for safe work execution, responsiveness, documentation, communication, and accountability
  • Partner with operations, engineering, EH&S, radiological controls, quality, security, and other teams to support site readiness
  • Support hiring, onboarding, training, and development of facilities and maintenance personnel as the department expands

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS 

  • 5+ years of experience in facilities maintenance, industrial maintenance, equipment maintenance, plant operations, or related technical facility support preferred
  • Experience managing preventive maintenance schedules, work orders, equipment records, inspections, and repair activities
  • Experience coordinating maintenance work with operations, vendors, contractors, utilities, or site partners
  • Familiarity with lockout/tagout, safe work planning, equipment isolation, and maintenance safety practices
  • Experience maintaining industrial equipment, facility systems, vehicles, utilities, or support infrastructure 
  • Strong organizational skills and ability to manage multiple maintenance priorities, schedules, vendors, and open issues
  • Ability to communicate clearly with technical teams, operations personnel, site partners, vendors, and leadership
  • Experience building or improving maintenance processes, tracking systems, documentation, or department structure preferred
  • Experience in nuclear, DOE, laboratory, manufacturing, industrial, energy, chemical processing, aerospace, defense, or other regulated environments is a plus

WORK ENVIRONMENT 

This role is based on-site at Standard Nuclear's Idaho campus and involves work across office, facility, shop, vehicle, equipment, and controlled environments. 

The position may involve working around operating equipment, facility systems, vehicles, utilities, contractors, maintenance activities, and controlled work areas. Work may require PPE and adherence to site safety, security, quality, radiological, environmental, lockout/tagout, and operational procedures.
