Who You’ll Work With
Industrial, Commercial, and Utility Division
About the Position
The Estimator works out of Stansell Electric’s Nashville office, assisting in all aspects of further developing the bid proposal process for the pre-construction team. The Estimator must show strong organizational skills, familiarity with industry standards and practices, and customer service skills commensurate to the satisfactory completion of position’s primary duties and responsibilities. Advancement opportunities are available by advancing to more senior positions.
How You’ll Make a Difference
- Maintain working relationships with clients, designers, subcontractors, and vendors
- Manage the bid proposal process to determine scope of work for various projects
- Provide expertise to any bid-related presentations and proposals
- Review proposal documents to determine scope of work and prepare estimates / bid proposals
- Manage client expectations as well as subcontractor and vendor involvement throughout proposal process.
- Assists successful closing of bid processes including finalizing contract agreement, estimate turnover with operations team, and setup of costing reports.
- Support all areas of the business related to estimates and job-costing
Smarts, Skills, and Physical Requirements
- Self-motivated, proactive and an effective team player
- Working knowledge of contract documents, includingspecifications, drawings, and single-lines / schematics
- Familiarity with construction and industry practices, processes, and standards
- Ability to recognize errors or inconsistencies with project-related costs and scope
- Strong professional communication (oral and written) and presentation skills
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office; Accubid estimating software experience is a plus
- Good detail, orientation, and organizational skills
- Ability to prioritize and manage multiple tasks/responsibilities and changing priorities as necessary
- Ability to work under pressure and adapt to changing requirements
Education
- High School Diploma
Experience
- 3-5 years electrical estimating experience preferred.
