Job Summary:
We are seeking an Equipment Delivery Driver to join our team. In this role, you will be responsible for ensuring the timely and accurate delivery of equipment to our field teams. You will be the face of the company, providing exceptional service and handling deliveries in a safe and efficient manner.
Key Responsibilities:
- Operate heavy-duty trucks and trailers to transport materials and a variety of heavy equipment—such as excavators, skid steers, backhoes, rockwheels, and tandem dollies—to and from customer sites; safely load and unload machinery.
- Set a strong example in safety practices and help identify potential hazards.
- Perform or assist with light maintenance and minor repairs on equipment and vehicles.
- Assist with loading and transporting spoils as needed.
- Conduct routine vehicle maintenance, including cleaning, fueling, and inspections.
- Follow designated routes and schedules to ensure timely deliveries.
- Inspect and secure loads to ensure safe transportation.
- Communicate effectively with coordinators and field teams about delivery status, delays, or issues.
- Handle delivery documentation.
- Adhere to traffic laws, safety regulations, and company policies.
- Report vehicle maintenance needs promptly.
- Handle goods carefully to prevent damage or loss.
- Support inventory management by tracking and verifying deliveries.
- Maintain accurate records and complete all required documentation.
Qualifications:
- Needs Class A CDL or ability to obtain class A.
- Prior experience as a driver, especially in construction or related industries, is often preferred.
- Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record.
- Previous experience in a delivery or driving role preferred.
- Strong communication and customer service skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Physical ability to lift and carry packages of varying sizes and weights.
- Knowledge of local area routes and traffic patterns is a plus.
- Strong time management and organizational skills.
- Ability to troubleshoot and resolve minor vehicle-related issues.
