About the Position
The Field Service Manager is responsible for leading, growing, and supporting a team of field electricians to ensure high-quality service delivery, operational efficiency, and exceptional customer satisfaction. This role oversees day-to-day field operations, ensures compliance with safety and electrical standards, and drives performance through effective leadership and resource management.
Key Responsibilities
Team Leadership and Management
Supervise, coach, and evaluate a team of licensed electricians performing installation, maintenance, and repair work in the field.
Conduct regular team meetings, ride-alongs, and performance check-ins.
Manage workforce’s technical abilities and skill development..
Support onboarding and development of field technicians.
Troubleshoot escalated technical issues and provide hands-on support when needed.
Ensure technicians follow company processes, quality standards, and customer service expectations.
Monitor productivity and implement improvements for efficiency and cost control.
Maintain compliance documentation and ensure all field staff have required certifications.
Customer Experience
Assist the Senior Service Manager in resolving issues.
Review service reports and ensure accurate completion of paperwork, work orders, and job documentation.
Qualifications Required
5-7+ years of experience in the electrical trade or field service environment.
Prior leadership or supervisory experience in a technical field.
Strong knowledge of electrical systems, codes, and safe work practices.
Excellent communication, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.
Ability to manage multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment.
Qualifications Preferred
Journeyman or Master Electrician license.
Experience with field service management software/tools.
Background in commercial or industrial electrical work.
Work Environment
Primarily field-based with occasional office work for planning, reporting, and team development.
